😃The fried oysters where perfectly done, not something you find in a lot of seafood place.

My french fries were lukewarm. I don't like french fries sitting under a heat light, I LIKE HOT FOOD. I also purchased 2 hot sausage poboy very thin patties and condiments were skimpy.

We were traveling from Texas and I was craving boiled shrimp and luckily Chookies was near by. I was not disappointed. The shrimp was great and hit the spot. It was exactly what I wanted. The service was great. The staff are very friendly.

The pasta was LESS THAN ADEQUATE! Seafood Pasta and seafood potato’s supposed to taste like seafood! This pasta had nacho cheese sauce with shrimp and crawfish warmed in it!The gumbo was bland!The cheesecake was dry!The shrimp pasta was AWESOME!The waitress was so friendly and tentative! I will come again but will order something different!

I have never in my life had oysters that had to be washed. Anyone that knows oysters knows your taste comes from the water, which is salt. If you wash them, you tasting watered down stuff. I will never visit this establishment again. If I want watered down food I will buy a bottle of water. Poor service. Oysters sucked. I visited last Wednesday and the oyster shucker there was on point. Heard he isnt there no more. He will be missed and me and my family will move on. They use a machine to shuck oysters now, I saw it first hand, its a joke. It was a very different experience today. I will spread the news not to visit this establishment.

Food was awesome. Peel and eat shrimp, oysters on the half shell, fried corn on the cob, salad, fried crab claws. Had a Pina colada which was very good. The waitress was very attentive and there when we needed anything. If you are in Hammond, LA definitely give them a try. Traveling cross country otherwise we woul be back. Thanks for a great experience.
