How is this place not constantly packed with people is beyond me. The best Japanese cuisine in the Hammond/Ponchatoula area. The prices are reasonable. Our family favourite are the snow crab salad (no crunchy), chicken hibachi w/noodles, clear soup, New Orleans roll and a chicken fried rice. The sushi has yet to disappoint. We tried kyoto around 2018. Never had a wrong order or bad food. The inside is small but we always order to go.
The outside was a little unassuming but don’t discount the place. The food was delicious!! And my hibachi was huge!! 10/10 best hibachi in Hammond!!
I've very upset this place doesn't have 4.5+ stars and that they've been empty when I've gone. Scanning reviews, it seems like some people came on an off day or don't account for human error. One person said she often ate here, it's amazing, obviously, but had one mediocre experience and low-reviewed them and vowed to never return. Seriously? The experience at Kyoto Sushi & Hibachi is wonderful, with friendly and warm staff, and a clean bathroom. The food is cooked to perfection, including the steak & scallops hibachi and lobster hibachi, which are preceded by a delicious miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. The fried Oreo is a spectacular and delicious ending to the meal. Customers are eager to return.
