We both experienced serious stomach aliments after eating our meals at the Homer restaurant. Food quality has decreased significantly and now caused us illness.

A hidden gem in Central North Louisiana! This restaurant plus the history of Homer Louisiana is worth the trip. The food is amazing along with the service as well.

This place was great! We went on a Friday night for our second time and had excellent service. My husband and I ordered the fajita beef quesadillas and chili relleno with beef. Both were very flavorful and delicious. I can't wait to go back again.
By far the best Mexican restaurant around. Probably the Quickest service I've every been to. Also the staff is so friendly

Ate lunch here, good food, and not the typical Mexican restaurant in terms of variety. Yes they have all the same stuff, but they mix some Tex-Mex style food in the menu as well.

We were up here visiting and I found this hole in the wall restaurant it was very good and authentic. I had the chicken, cheese and rice. My spouse had the burrito with chicken and beef. And said it had pretty good flavor and it was a big as a footlong. The things I didn't like was the floor was very slippery in there, we got canned drinks due to some issues in that area but was charged 2.13 for a canned drink so basically the same price as a fountain drink and they didn't have ice either. Our server was okay, they add the taxes on the hand write ticket so may look more but it's has taxes included.

My wife and I thought we would stop by this restaurant after visiting the town of Homer from DFW. The food here was fine. Salsa and chips were good, as was the sweet tea. Service however was another story unfortunately. Aside from the couple that followed behind us into the restaurant we were the only patrons. The place was empty. I mention that because we waited for a minute or two and, no one came to seat us. I finally walked to the back where the kitchen was and said hello loudly. Music was playing and finally someone noticed. Nonchalantly our eventual server said "i'll be there in a minute." Another minute passes and my wife says, "Lets just seat ourselves." No problem, we did. Finally the server came out from the kitchen, grabbed a some menus and gave us ours, she didn't bother with eye contact, didn't bother being friendly or engaging, just went through the motions like it was a chore. Well ok, she at least eventually took our order and I have to admit the food was good. Finally when we are getting ready to leave the server was on a personal phone call with an ear piece on as she was taking our plates. We got up from our table, she rang us up at the register and again barely acknowledges our presence beyond doing the transaction. Then I literally hear her cursing in spanish on the personal call she is still on. Well my goodness. This is hardly that big deal of mind you, however if you run a business like you can take your customers for granted and barely offer even the baseline level of customer service, it's probably not going to help your business over the long run. I don't know that we'll ever come to Homer again. But I can safely guarantee I wouldn't eat at Gonzalez's if we did.
Absolutely delicious ?
