531 Liberty Cafe is a charming spot serving comforting American cuisine, and it quickly became a favorite of mine. I ordered the honey-lemon chicken with corn grits, and it was absolutely amazing — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and wonderfully balanced.
The atmosphere has that “great little place” feel: cozy, welcoming, and relaxed. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, stopping by just the right amount to make sure you have everything you need without ever feeling rushed.
Fabulous food, warm service, and a comfortable setting make 531 Liberty Cafe a must-visit.

Difficult to find a place to park because of its location; It’s downtown surrounded by medical offices. The smells outside are unpleasant. The menu is a little pricey for sandwiches. But everything sounded like it would taste great. I ordered the cheesesteak with sweet potato fries and tea. The bread was very soft and fresh. The first bite of sandwich was delicious until the extreme saltiness of the cheesesteak filling hit me. The sweet potato fries were also way too salty. That meal probably had a week’s worth of sodium in it. The service was very good. They just need to take the salt box away from the cook.

We were unexpectedly in Houma and a quick search for top lunch spots brought up the 531 Cafe, so we gave it a try and were delighted! We were simply there for burgers at lunch, but the burgers were delicious, the fries were great, and the sodas came with free refills. Overall, the menu looked really good and the staff was incredibly friendly. If you're in Houma and looking for a meal, definitely stop here.

Had take out twice, first time I thought maybe they were having a bad day, then the second time I just ordered a salad to go. How can you mess up a salad? For $18 dollars you can get a bunch of lettuce thrown in a box with 5 small cubes of chicken ( and I mean small, the croutons were bigger) and croutons thrown on top. Never again!

Great food, everything is always fresh. I would order here almost daily for my crew of 20+ Coast Guard members when in the area. They had no problems with the large orders and got it done quickly but still high quality. Thanks for the great food!

Great atmosphere! There’s plenty of seating options: downstairs and upstairs (both inside and outside). The empanadas were so good! Drinks are favorable. Service was perfect. I highly suggest stopping in for a meal!
