Ordered both the seafood and chicken & sausage gumbos through DoorDash. As someone who’s lived in south Louisiana my whole life (age 38), I can say they make a proper roux - this is real LA gumbo. Mixed the included potato salad right into both bowls, controversial tho that is. Lol The chicken and sausage would be good for anyone new to gumbo - classic flavors done right. It’s not Lafayette-level, but for DoorDash in Houma, this is your best bet if you want authentic gumbo delivered. I really mean that

I do not recommend wasting your time and money. I got the fish and shrimp platter. The fish and shrimp were hard and tough. Pretty sure the shrimp was frozen shrimp they just warmed up. Husband got the white beans and shrimp stew. White beans were dumped straight from the can. Kids got the hamburger which looked to be frozen patties. Total bill was over $70. That’s when two waters, a lemonade and a coke. This was a huge let down. Horrible.

From the reviews I was expecting a quaint local spot with home cooked food. Instead I got a not fully microwaved bread pudding, bland jumbo and marginal services. Our server actually brought us food while drinking from a can and eating. Don’t waste your time. Would rather have done a five guys or similar!

WOW! BEST red beans and rice I've ever had, and the sausage that comes with it is also the best I've ever had. Peanut butter and chocolate pie for dessert is to DIE for, and guess what? That's right, it's also the best I've ever had! Would eat here for the rest of my life if I lived here!

Stopped in for lunch, had the roast beef poboy and seafood platter.
Poboy was wonderful with great sweet potato fries.
Seafood platter was just ok — the gumbo was really good, but the stuffed crab was imitation crab meat and the stuffed shrimp was raw inside.catfish was strong because they didn’t clean that belly vein. Mini crawfish pies, oysters, fried shrimp were tasty. However red beans were hard and no sausage to be found but a lot of rice.
Service was really wonderful, great atmosphere.
Will eat there again, now know what is great and what to not get.

My food was great. The waiter at my table was the worst!! We drank all of our drinks and he just stared at us and didn’t give us our drink refills . He never asked how we were doing, or introduce himself. The time that he was the nicest was the time of the tip. The cooks that brought out my food were nice. Other than our waiter this place was great.
