A great park for the kids, but that’s about all. We have been living in the neighborhood for a year and had been wanting to try it, but it always appears to be too busy. Tonight, we decided to give it a go since it felt nice outside and the kids could play. We arrived around 5:50. The service seemed good as first, until it took 15-20 minutes just for half the drinks and another 10 minutes for the rest of the drinks. We ordered, and everything seemed nice. After 45 minutes or so, we noticed several other tables receiving food that arrived well after we did. Upon asking, we were told the kitchen was backed up. As we looked around, we noticed that there was only 1/3 or so capacity at the restaurant at the time. We shook it off and continued enjoying watching the kids play. Around 30 minutes later, the kids food came out, as well as an order of boiled garlic. No silverware or napkins were at the table. Around 10 minutes later, we received silverware. The kids ate their food and were happy. We asked to replace the garlic with a warm one with the entree, as it was cold now. The same cold garlic was returned to the table. Shortly after, another appetizer and my wife’s food arrived. The shrimp and vegetables were cold and she never received the rice she ordered. Quite disappointing for a small, cold $25 order with a hand full of grilled shrimp and some veges. The appetizer gumbo was not warm either. My wife was aggravated and talked to the manager. The waitress never returned after this. The manager voided the rest of the food we never received, which was $50~ worth of food, and gave us a $25 gift card to return another day. My wife ate only her couple of cold shrimp since she breast feeds and was starving and left the cold veges. Apparently, there was a large table inside and they were getting all of the business. After nearly 2 hours here, we left hungry. For a restaurant that provides a ton of seating, I’m not sure how they can function if the place was half full or more. It shouldn’t take well over an hour just for cheese sticks and nearly 2 hours just to receive everyone’s food. I understand some times are busy and good food takes time to cook, but with a place less than half full, there is no reason why this experience should have been so poor other than poor management. The set up is really nice and the kids did enjoy their food and had a nice time. The kids meal had double the shrimp as the $20 shrimp entree, by the way.

The service was good, and the place was bustling, clearly a local favorite.
I ordered the flounder for $30 and a dozen oysters for $25, which felt a bit steep for the location.
The food was decent but unremarkable—nothing wrong, just okay.

Everything was great, the food, the service and the atmosphere. The food tasted great, however portions were very small! I ordered blackened catfish and shrimp. The catfish was paper thin and was only bits and pieces, not a full filet. The shrimp was very very small.

Some friends brought my wife and I out for her birthday and this place is AMMMAZING! I highly recommend it. The charbroiled oysters was awesome and the fried shrimp also. I didn't care to much for the roast beef poboy tho... It was dry with a little bit of gravy on top of the meat. Little bit too , it Definitely needed a LOT MORE juice. But it was good just not sloppy and juicy. The fried green beans was great also. All in all we had a wonderful dinner with wonderful friends.

Been there a few times over the past year. And always had good service.. but .. not tonight.. My wife ordered Shrimp platter and all three others ordered Surf and Surf.. My wife received her food fairly quickly then waited for us to receive ours.. but after a while I told her to eat before it was totally cold. She was almost finished her meal when the server brought out 2 of the three plates of Surf and Surf. After asking for my plate 2 times, my food was brought out to me but everyone at our table had already finished their meal.. no explanation was given for the delay.. and also .. I received a dozen shrimp but the other 2 plates each only had 6 shrimp per plate and yet were charged the same per plate as I was.. we’ve never had this poor quality of service on our past visits.. totally disappointed.. Management needs to fix this quickly.. we will be back next week to try but.. if we have the same experience we won’t be back again..

Loved the charbroiled oysters appetizers, fresh and delicious. Had the Trio platter with shrimp/oysters and catfish for entre. The platter was just ok. Large helping but the batter was really dry, no other way to describe it and the catfish flavor was not what I was used to from other experiences with catfish locally. i am sure it is all farm raised down there but this fish had a distinct taste of soil I couldn't get past. Prices were higher than expected for atmosphere of restaurant. They do not have any beer on tap.

Service
Visited on a Tuesday, seating was fine didn’t wait long, drinks came fast. However appetizer (fried pickles took forever) in addition to all the food.
Upon ordering there was a “miscommunication” with the order. The server did not want to satisfy the customer. We asked for the manager (who didn’t come the first time) and she had told the server to bring the food, however we intended to speak to the manager which went okay, just customer service doesn’t seem high on the priority scale.

A win here, the outdoor area for the kids is amazing. I love that we can watch them play and enjoy ourselves inside. The decor is nice, different things on the wall.

3 hamburger steaks were ordered, all 3 were suppose to have gravy on it but only 1 actually came to the table with gravy. Had to wait at least 10 more minutes to receive cups of gravy. All 3 hamburger steaks were thinner than fast food patties and DRY DRY DRY. Menu read that it comes with a slice of French bread. What we actually got were the size of a captain wafer cracker. Very disappointed
