I received an email offer to buy an Easter King Cake from Cannata’s.. I had been invited to an Easter dinner and decided to order the Easter King Cake from Cannata’s to bring. They gave me the option to order Thursday for a Saturday delivery to the host of the dinner. The cake did not show up Saturday and I received no notification from FEdEx with a tracking #. I called Saturday evening and the person who answered told me to call back Sunday (Easter) as someone would be in at 6AM that could answer my question about the cakes arrival. I called back Sunday and was told that department was closed. So embarrassed and humiliated I went to the store and bought a store bakery item to bring. It was disappointing as the other guests and host were looking forward to the Easter King Cake. When I called this morning I was told that there is a disclaimer that the cake could arrive after the date I indicated if FedEv delivery wasn’t available in our area. FedEx is definitely in our area. The person I spoke with was rude and did not care one bit about what I had been through. I told her to cancel my order and she said it was being delivered today. Again, I have never received any tracking info. The host of yesterdays Easter dinner said it came and said it definitely didn’t look as nice as ones I had purchased in the past. Maybe because I purchased from Randazzo’s.Beware if you’re ordering for a special occasion. Their customer service skills have much to be desired.

I was sent the wrong flavor of king cake. I sent an email on their website and got no response. The cake was dry and not good. It also was over $60 to get shipped so I was really disappointed. I’m going back to always ordering from Manny Randzoo’s.

Wow! What a fabulous experience with Cannata’s and a sweet helpful lady named Marian. We are big fans of their Gooey Butter King Cake and wanted to have one shipped all the way to Hawaii to properly celebrate Mardi Gras Day. There was a slight shipping glitch but Marian fixed it all! Our King Cake was over-nighted at no charge and it arrived! Everyone loved it! It was fresh and delicious! They are a wonderful company and I highly recommend them!

Visited Zuppardo's in Metairie right after Family Gras to buy a King Cake. Their radio ads were really hyping Cannata's King Cakes, so I thought that this year a Cannata's cake would be worth the try. They had the Cannoli and Snickerdoodle flavors for sale, but a surprising policy posted in the bakery department: "No Returns on King Cake." I found that odd, but it didn't dissuade me from buying a Cannata's King Cake, that at about $34 seemed over-priced to begin with. Perhaps Zuppardo's "No Returns" policy should have been a tip-off that they expected problems with certain cakes? The Cannata's cake was misshapen and barely had any of the Snickerdoodle filling in it at all. So, I didn't even bother to try to return it to Zuppardo's, given their posted policy. I did, however, call Cannata's on Lundi Gras to report the issue. I was told that someone would call back. No response. But, given the fact that it was Lundi Gras, I didn't expect a speedy response. I also contacted them via email through their website. I'd like to think that the cake we purchased was only a fluke and that Cannata's cakes are really worth of the all the praise they seem to receive. Our experience was so disappointing, however, that I don't think I'll be interested in purchasing another one any time soon. Perhaps the quality is better when purchasing directly from Cannata's?

Their King Cakes are literally the best I have ever had!!! And I have had a lot of King Cakes from a lot of different places throughout my life, so that's saying a lot!!! Every different flavor/filling I try is even better than the one before, which I thought couldn't get any better!! They are absolutely delicious, and the service was great!!! My absolute #1 favorite is the T-Can (barrel-aged bourbon glazed pecans!) I had to come out and sing their praises, although I must admit, I didn't want to let out the secret about this place!!!

Received a cinnamon king cake that was shipped to me from Cannata's. It was ok. I had people over specifically to enjoy a king cake, but unfortunately there was no baby in the cake. Everyone was disappointed. A card stated a baby was "inserted into the cake". I called Cannata's and they said it was against the law to put the baby in the cake as it was a choking hazard. They had put a baby on top of the cake along with other plastic trinkets. We expected there would still be a baby inside, as the card said. I ordered a king cake to be shipped from a different New Orleans bakery last year, and it had the baby inside. Maybe this is a new law?
