You get a lot for the price.
I've been eating here for about 7 years now and I have never received bad food. Their consistency is flawless. If you want good Chinese cuisine, you should give them a try. Also the service is very nice and welcoming.

Recommended dishes: Egg Drop Soup, Egg Foo Young
The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had , the shrimp egg foo young came with some kind of thick flour gravy , the sweet and sour sauce wasn’t very good either, also there were no utensils in the bag or soy sauce
Staff is friendly and helpful. I love the sesame chicken

Place literally looked like a dump, as does most places in Houma LA... it's the place that time forgot... Gourmet House was no different...
The booth we sat in caved in, in the middle so we had to be strategic about how we sat...
Everything I ate while there tasted exactly the same... like it was cooked all in the same wok...
It took forever to get our food but the waitress was nice... you could tell that she was trying to do her best with what she had but the food was just awful... avoid this restaurant at all cost, wish I did...

Ordered beef w/ broccoli side of Lo mein noodles, orange chicken w/ fried rice, and a small egg drop soup to go. The only thing that got eaten was the soup. The beef and lo mein was extremely salty and the beef was very chewy. The orange chicken and rice had a really weird taste to it. Definitely not worth $35. The only saving grace was the girl running the register, she was fast, attentive, and very friendly. Will not order from here again.

We order food to-go from here often. The food is always great. The staff is always friendly. The one problem that this location has is they are never accurate on their wait times. You often wait at least 10 minutes longer than what they tell you over the phone, and when making an order online and putting a specific time for it to be ready, they don’t even pay attention to that time. They started my food at the time it was supposed to be ready.? I waited almost exactly 30 minutes longer for my food than when it was supposed to be ready. That’s a long time. Please work on this for your devoted customers. I have to say though, they’re always busy and they work hard. Thank you.
