I haven’t been to MOOYAH since I left Texas, definitely not the same service

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Metairie Mooyah location on August 24, 2025. This used to be one of our favorite burger spots, but after tonight, we will not be returning.

When we placed our order, instead of the usual metal trays, we were handed a bag. When I clarified we were dining in, an employee claimed they had no clean trays—all were dirty. Yet, I could clearly see only two tables had customers and both had their food on trays. Later, when my wife’s order came out wrong, I returned to the counter and I noticed there was a large stack of clean trays between the prep station and the cashier’s station. When I questioned the inconsistency, an employee who identified himself as the “manager,” named Jachovee (spelling uncertain), reacted unprofessionally. Yes I made a general comment, not directed to anyone in specific, but as me saying “they are lazies”…even though I didn’t personally directed the comment to him or anyone directly, obviously his behavior took it as personal. Instead of addressing the real issue respectfully, he became defensive, dismissive, and combative—calling me “bro,” raising his voice, and even stating he didn’t care and that they were short handed…Even if that was the case, you have to still act professional. He even said he didn’t care to lose his job if I contacted corporate because he had “three other jobs.” …At one point, it appeared the trays were deliberately removed from sight, raising both health and honesty concerns. If they were truly dirty, they should not have been stacked by the food prep area where customers walk up.

This employee’s behavior escalated to the point where I felt unsafe and considered calling the police in case the situation turned physical. Which I did just to make sure he didn’t follow me or my wife outside the restaurant. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant or anywhere. What should have been a simple dine-in meal turned into an unpleasant confrontation.

As a longtime customer who has recommended Mooyah to many others, I am disheartened. Your food may be good, but unprofessional staff attitudes like this will drive loyal customers away. Tonight you didn’t just lose a sale—you lost a customer who has supported this location for years.

The food here was soooo good! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The staff was super friendly! Lisa had a huge smile when engaging with me. Place is spotless too, worker was cleaning and you can tell he takes pride in work! which I really appreciated. Definitely coming back—highly recommend!

Over priced for how much you get and the fries are really bad you get a very small patty on your burger

Burger was great, loved the sweet potato fries!

The reason for the lose of stars is because they locked us in at 8:30. Half an hour before they closed.

The guy had to cross the entire store to let us out. The lock was very hard to undo. I tried and was concerned of breaking something, the guy struggled but was much rougher. So what would have happened if there was a fire?

I was not pleased with the illegal locking of the front door.

Food sucks,lack of management, lots of attitude

Everything was good except the drink machine was broken.

I ordered a lettuce wrapped burger, and most of the lettuce was brown. I had to dig out my burger and just eat the meat. Then swallow down a canned coke because apparently their soda machine is down. I paid $25 for a brown lettuce burger, a double burger, 1 fry, and 2 canned cokes. I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant, but it's gone downhill. If you eat in, they give you an index card with a written number on it. This experience just makes me not want to spend my hard earned money at this location. They need to revamp and have better produce to accommodate their menu.

Was told they was out of fries with a whole rack full of fries at 7 pm. Also a couple came in wanting to order and the couple was told that they wasn’t excepting orders right now and the couple asked could they make a order for pick up and the lady said you could but I wouldn’t advise it. I’ve never seen service like this in my life. A bunch of kids running a place of buisness shouldn’t happen. Worst place in Houma.

Every order coming out was wrong. The employees were trying but it’s seems like a management issue. The soda machine wasn’t working (but they will let you pay $2.59 for it before they tell you) so you only had tea or lemonade. They found me a canned Diet Coke. The employees were asking out loud “who ordered this or that”….what a mess. At one point there wasn’t ONE employee in sight in the whole place. Not one. Food was fine.

I ordered a turkey burger and a regular one… paid $2.59 each for a hot can of Coke and Diet Coke (was given a cup to get ice with - so hot in the place & drink was so hot, the ice melted). Get our food - neither were a turkey burger. Walked back to the counter where I spoke to the guy who took our order and was informed “we don’t even have turkey burgers”. The male workers had such terrible attitudes (the two ladies were sweet). For $28 - hot drinks, wrong food, WE WILL NOT BE BACK!
