We travel from Houston to Louisiana several times a month. We’re also huge foodies. This place is DELICIOUS! We had the boudin and the burgers. It’s a true meat market not a restaurant but there’s a little area to eat. We bought more boudin, some ice and cooler to take some home to our kids. Great little place!

It's ok, they made my husband and father in law feel very unwelcome once, they made it seem like they weren't supposed to be in there and they said the owner or some man kept looking at them like they did something wrong against them almost, they were literally just eating lunch.. My gmaw also got a burger for her and I, couple days ago and the middle of them were literally pink. And they weren't that good to be honest...Sorry

Traveling from TX to FL and stopped for gas. Quick Yelp search for a burger landed me here. Excellent fresh to order burger with bacon and cheese. Awesome flavor to the meat (super juicy but not greasy). Excellent bacon. Nice soft toasted bun. Probably won't get the chance to be in the area anytime soon so I enjoyed a second burger.

This is a true specimen of a hidden gem, located just off the interstate in little Iowa, Louisiana. As soon as you walk in the door, the delicious aroma embraces you. A rotating lunch plate is offered, as are a variety of poboy sandwiches. All of these options are amazing, and I don't say that lightly. There is a small seating area for on-site dining. The service is always warm, friendly and prompt. True to its name, this is an actual meat market, with frozen meat and sausage for sale. I will continue to visit here every time I am in the Iowa area.

Great spot for all of your Cajun meats, boudin, ponces, etc. I had been to a few places along I-10 on my way to Austin from spending Christmas back home and several of them were out of many items including being completely out of sausage. I called ahead to Roy's and they were sure to let me know they were fully stocked. I stocked up on pork/venison green onion, regular pork smoked sausage and Tasso. My only suggestion would be for them to stock thermal bags instead of just styrofoam ice chests. For people such as myself traveling a long way without much room in their car otherwise, 10/10!

If they stopped there that would be plenty,but they've taken it to the next level with a dinning room, plate lunches, that are so good you'd argue, that it is your Moma's Cajun cooking at its best..Roy's meat market, in Iowa,La. sells all kinds of fresh meats, hot or cold Boudin, Fish , crawfish , duck, beef hearts & kidney, and the very best meat sticks this side of the border.Plus a whole wall of frozen specialty meats.. even their home-made pork sausage patties, and packages you can make your own patties. They have extremely tender ribeyes.They make to order salads, My fav. salad is the ribeye salad..awesome..They also have several different. Kinds of fish, and even Tuna!They have from regular size cangoods, to the resturant size caned of veggies,beans and even 5gal.bucket of Rough. They sell dry beans in bulk and also hand bagged dry beans for ppl that wana grab a bag and go..They have all the supplies for restaurants that a person would need to make large meals, and sell it at very decent prices.They are very clean in the kitchen and entire market!This is a must stop,if your in Iowa,La. While eating inside..if you take a pic of your plate of food and post it on face book, you get a free link of Boudin to go..How cool is that?The employees are extremely nice and it's clear their all happy to be at work..they treat the patrons so very nice, and polite..We just love them..

Traveling across country, stopped to get gas. We wanted something besides fast food and came across another yelp review about Roy's so we gave it a try and oh my it was so good. Fresh grilled shrimp po'boy sandwiches they were delicious and the bread was most definitely fresh and tasty. If I ever find myself passing through, I will make sure to stop off at Roy's!
