Yum! Good service and good food. We wanted something local to Lake Charles and Steamboat Bills was recommended. The gumbo and boudin balls were especially good.

Great restaurant right off I-10 before you cross the bridge if coming from the New Orleans side of Lake Charles. Plenty of free parking on side of restaurant. You stand in line and order at the counter, they will give you a number and then someone will help you find a table. Very busy place, with a good selection of seafood and other cajun items. I ordered the shrimp basket, shrimp was good, slaw good as well, my husband got the sampler of different combo and enjoyed it a lot. Very good food and reasonable prices.

Great Cajun flavor! We had a fried platter and everything was good. I loved that the fish was crispy. The deviled crab was spicy but not too hot. My husband got stuffed shrimp and he said they were delicious!

Always the best! Our first stop coming into Lake Charles this time! We stop every time we’re in town. The best gumbo, red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, shrimp, boudin balls…everything!

Gotten much better! Its been almost a decade since I'd tried this place. I found it to be spicier and MUCH more authentic than previous trip. My friend enjoyed her fried catfish and the baked potato was HUGE! I had a fried boudin ball which was VERY spicy and tasted a bit like it had jalepenos in it too. Disappointed with the stuffed crawfish pistolette though. In most places it is a very mineature french bread that has a hold poked in the side to allow either crawfish or shrimp cream sauce inside. The best part of a stuffed pistolette is that it is usually FRIED afterward to give it extra rich flavor. Theirs isn't and you can definitely tell so if you wish less cholesterol, it would be a better option to have one at Steamboat Bills. Park in back, walk to the front, order at the front counter, get a number to put on your table, then enjoy your meal! I will definitely be back to try other authentic Cajun/ seafood options.

I have to eat, gluten free, which means fried seafood is usually not an option for me. Steamboat bills makes the fried food, gluten free, and it is absolutely delicious! I had the fried shrimp and the Boudin ball and both were excellent. This will be a new stop for me anytime I am in lake Charles or just passing through on I-10.

It was so good the first night we had to go back. I had a filet of fish, lightly fried on a bed of rice and smothered with crawfish etouffee. My friend got a sampler of crawfish etouffee, gumbo, and red beans. I am from Lake Charles and found the ambiance to be the lively South Louisiana we love! If you have the chance to eat here don't pass it up!

There’s a helpful guy in parking lot that directs you in and out, A friendly lady inside restaurant that shows you where to order and where to sit. You order at counter and food is brought to table by helpful person. He checked back a few times to see if we needed additional items. Our meal was great. (Boudain balls, pistolet, gumbo) Price’s reasonable. Large menu selection. The place is crazy busy, but the staff is great! Our wait for placing order, seating, service of food was not long at all. Restrooms clean.

Crawfish etouffe and red bean and rice were both very good. A very casual atmosphere. Order and pay at the counter and your meal is brought to the table. They were very busy when we arrived for lunch but service was quick and efficient. We will definitely stop again on our next trip through Lake Charles.

Excellent seafood place in Lake Charles. We tried the gumbo and crawfish etouffee and it did not disappoint.

Good Food. Creole menu. Unfortunately was a little on the bland side. The seafood entrees were appetizing. I recommend this restaurant for a quick lunch.

Meal was okay, but charging extra for using credit card for payment without any written or verbal warning was unacceptable. Equivalent to another tax ln total bill amount. Probably would not have noticed unless woman paying at another register started giving the cashier a piece of her mind as we walked towards the exit. No more dining here for us, family, and friends.

Our food was wonderful. I had a baked potato with seafood topping. It was really good. My husband had etouffee. The place was really busy, but the servers kept the food coming out quickly and the two gentlemen waiting to clean the tables for the next diners were quick and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was absolutely delicious! Great value and taste. We loved the laid back atmosphere and family friendly environment.

Best seafood in Lake Charles. Fair price and friendly folks. No frills ambiance but who cares with food like this. We were going to Pat’s of Henderson that is our favorite place but it was temporarily closed for some reason. Glad we stumbled into Steamboat Bill’s.
