I'd much rather go to Ideal in Fat City. People here are kind of rude... like they don't want to be there and counting down the hours for their shift to be over. I like the ropa vieja. Their tortillas are a little too expensive. In my country, I can buy 10 for the price of one here. I'll come here if I can't make it to Metairie....
This little grocery is an icon in the Spanish community. The Carrolton location was shuttered due to Hurricane Katrina but lucky for me, they moved to Kenner. They offer all of the Latin staples that we use in cooking, such as spices, specific vegetables and canned goods that go in our delicious cuisine. But the best part in my opinion, is the kitchen in the back that sells food. The carne asada (grilled steak) is so tasty and it's generous in size...it comes with a pickled cabbage...read full review
