This place is a great alternative to not having to go to the original one downtown. The staff was friendly and had people who worked there who live close to it. So the locals all know who they are. It's not the cleanest restaurant in the world, but much cleaner than the one downtown that's overrun by tourists.. if you're on this side of town in New Orleans, give this place a try. I've never had more fresh beignets in my life (and I've had lots)! I went through the drive-thru on an early Friday evening and was served in less than five minutes. Service was quick and friendly. And the beignets were HOT and coated in sugar. Got stuck in traffic, so it was the perfect excuse to taste them fresh. Will be going here from now on!
Don't underestimate the size of the donuts. We ended up getting too many - one order per person is probably too much. The cafe du lait ... Really wasn't that special.
