When we landed in New Orleans, my wife said we needed to get something to eat. So before heading downtown, we decided to look for some special locations in Kenner. We definitely found one. Hurst's is a family owned restaurant that started with humble beginnings. Back in 1939, it began as a chicken shack. Today the family offers chicken and seafood. The whole family was helping out. We had the fried chicken with greens and cornbread. What a great job with the whole meal....
I am never disappointed!!!This truly a hidden gem of Kenner! Always fresh,good and on time, and my order is always right. I never have to check the bag before I leave. I wait for the favorite days to get their specials. Portions are nice and food is perfectly seasoned! I just wish they fix the atmosphere. The restaurant looks like it's back in the 70s. I wish they get an interior decorater. The money they make in the restaurant on average,they could afford to fix the place...
The food was a little to stringy and slimmy I had Smorthered Okra with shrimp and smoked sausage with a piece of blue crab broken on the side over rice, deep fried porkchop which was great to taste and perfectly fried and the best Sweet Tea in
