My kids and I have made so many great memories walking or biking to Black Cafe. We once interviewed Trey as a school project on running small business. I loved the way he really engaged the kids on the topic and the questions he asked them to invite critical thinking on how they might run their own businesses. I really appreciate having been part of this community and hope to come back and visit as often as possible after our move to Austin. This place has the best Cafe Au Lait in town and their Scotch eggs are incredible! My kids devour the beignets every time.

We went there for the first time this morning while visiting Lafayette from Maine and we had a great experience! The man at the counter this morning (so sad I didn’t get his name!) was awesome. He even gave our toddler a free banana because she kept asking for one while we ordered. The place had a really comfortable feel and was clean! Coffee was delicious and very affordable. Ham and cheese croissant was delicious and the beignets were amazing (only $2.50 for 8 pieces!) We will 100% be back at least once before we head back to Maine.

I got the pork perfection. It was a egg wrapped and pork sausage deep-fried it was absolutely delicious. I don’t know why more places don’t sell them personally and I’ve never thought about doing that I also got the beignets. They were hands-down the best ones I’ve ever ate and me and my friends go to New Orleans often there was a mixup with my coffee. I was supposed to have a large the gentleman run me a small let me go ahead and have that one and then went back and made my large grateful for the 4 Hour Dr. I have to go home. I definitely recommend this place for brunch or breakfast?

Loved the scotch egg. Unfortunately they only had one of the pork ones available when I went so my wife and I split that. It was amazing in taste and a place I would recommend if anyone wants to try the scotch eggs for the first time.
