Yesterday I called in an order for work for about 20 people, and even though they don't open until 11, the manager worked with us and the kitchen and staff had the food ready right at 11, all labeled and nicely packaged. I love this place so much, I even bought a watercolor of the restaurant from the farmer's market. A true gem.”

Came on recommendation from two different locals who said this was the best restaurant in Lafayette. We were not disappointed. Reservations were needed, but the hostess was able to accommodate us by the kitchen. It worked out GREAT. Was able to see the chef, Sullivan, and his crew perform their magic on each of the dishes. Every member of the staff was very friendly - from the hostess, servers, chef, our waiter Zach, and the general manager Aaron. Just get two orders of the Roasted Oysters to start. Trust me on this one. Even the Mac and Cheese was delicious! The creme brulee was delectably perfect. Get it! If cocktails are your jam, you won't be disappointed with the selection. My only gripe was that it was very loud on a Saturday at 7 PM. Felt like it was a night club. Made conversation challenging at times. If you need to change diapers, the unisex bathrooms will have accommodations for your baby. A thoughtful touch. Will definitely return if I ever come back to Lafayette.”

Our oysters were served to us luke warm and didn't look or taste "charbroiled" at all. The stuffing that came on top of mine was cold in the middle and the sauce that came with it on the side was cold as well. Ive never in my life been served cold cooked oysters! Absolutely disgusting. Won't be back. Years ago when I came everything was good but now its a big no for me. Disappointed amd dissatisfied after this lunch. O and let me not forget to mention our waitress was very unattentive and never came check on us after we received our food. So that made the experience suck too!”

Since I had the morning and most of the afternoon free the day after my arrival I decided to head to Vermillionville to explore the historic village and have lunch at La Cuisine de Maman. What a great decision!! The food at the restaurant was delicious. I had the plate lunch with a cup of seafood gumbo to start. Everything was really good. The plate lunch that day was crawfish etouffee over rice, smothered green beans, fried shrimp with tartar sauce, and a big biscuit. Portions were very generous; I thought that some of the food might overflow onto the table.😊 I didn't have room for dessert; although I've since been told by lots of people that I should have taken it with me. After eating, I explored the village. What an amazing blend of history and culture it is! I can't wait to return.”

The same issue happened again today. The manager, Shawn, immediately came to apologize to me at the table. He had fresh food come out to me super quick. He also returned to check on us, gave us a gift card, and said that he hoped we would return to give this location another chance. “First off, sorry for this long review, but I feel that I need to let everyone know about this.... I've been considering all week long where I wanted to eat on Friday since I don't have my daughter with me, and I have an opportunity to try something out of the norm. Sushi was the thing I kept going back to, and I wanted an AYCE place...there are only two that I'm aware of. The decision came down to the Korean BBQ, so I chose Bushido. It was my very first time here, so I had no idea what I was getting into. When I walked in, it was still a little early, and the hostess was sweet and showed me to my seat, so it started off really well. My server, Alleah came and did the whole introduction thing. She asked if I'd been before, so I explained that I had not. When I tell you this young lady went into helpful mode like I had never experienced before. She immediately made me feel comfortable asking the questions that I had. She asked questions about my tastes, and she helped me by recommending things that would best suit what I liked. She did not miss. Every single thing she recommended was top-notch. She was on top of things, and I felt like she was attentive to me, and that was welcomed since I had never done an AYCE sushi place. I expected the food to arrive at a slower pace due to it being sushi, however everything I ordered came out quick, and fresh. One example of how helpful she was....I ordered Korean BBQ for the first time ever. I was not expecting that amazing setup...I thought you just get meat! You get a whole experience! She brought it to me and explained everything that was on the plate. She told me different ways people enjoy eating it, from just the meat, to just rice and meat, to full on lettuce wraps. I went all the way and it blew my mind how good it was! Now, during one of the times I was ordering, I felt adventurous on trying raw sushi for the first time. Alleah explained to me that she is too scared to try it, but she encouraged me to step out of my safe zone. She said she could not recommend based on taste, but she said if I wanted something that's not a big portion to start, and that looked less like raw fish, to try the spicy tuna roll. When it arrived, I tried it and it was OK...but I feel like that's going to be an acquired taste for me. I ate two pieces and she checked up on me to see how I was handling it. I asked for spicy mayo to help me get the consistency and the different taste to a place where I enjoyed it...and she was on top of it. The coctail I had was phenominal, every single thing I ate was absolutely crushing my expectations (with the exception of the raw sushi attempt, but that's on me to overcome...it was good on the restaurant's part) all the way to Alleah telling me I could not come without trying the fried oreos....and again, she hit 100% on it. I never....ever write any reviews, but I feel it needs to be known that you guys have an absolute superstar of a server in Alleah! She won me over and made my expereince one that I will not forget and more importantly, one that I will talk to a lot of people about. I will come again for the food, the coctails...and to try sushi, and I hope that my next visit, Alleah is on shift and is my server again! Thank you all of the experience!”

I smelled the spice as soon as I walked in, I ordered crawfish, snow crab legs and blue crabs. We went with the mild seasoning (I smelled the spice and my baby is NY born soooo…) anyway… the taste was amazing, very flavorful and not too spicy… Spiced enough to have your nose running but not overbearing. It was cooked to order, still hot after 30mins plus and the lady brought the pans to us (which she didn’t have to do, but I thought when she said 20mins that I’d give them 30mins before going in). Came on recommendation from two different locals who said this was the best restaurant in Lafayette. We were not disappointed. Reservations were needed, but the hostess was able to accommodate us by the kitchen. It worked out GREAT. Was able to see the chef, Sullivan, and his crew perform their magic on each of the dishes. Every member of the staff was very friendly - from the hostess, servers, chef, our waiter Zach, and the general manager Aaron. Just get two orders of the Roasted Oysters to start. Trust me on this one. Even the Mac and Cheese was delicious! The creme brulee was delectably perfect. Get it! If cocktails are your jam, you won't be disappointed with the selection. My only gripe was that it was very loud on a Saturday at 7 PM. Felt like it was a night club. Made conversation challenging at times. If you need to change diapers, the unisex bathrooms will have accommodations for your baby. A thoughtful touch. Will definitely return if I ever come back to Lafayette.”

We had a really good experience here. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable. The menu has great options, and you can tell care goes into what they serve.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the wait time and pizza texture. It took about an hour for two pizzas to come out, and the crust was a bit harder than expected. Still tasty, just not quite perfect.
That said, everything else was on point, and I’d absolutely come back. Looking forward to trying it again.”
