36 Best Mexican Restaurants in Lafayette

“I had a great first experience here! I was greeted immediately upon entering, and the staff member who took my order was incredibly friendly and helpful. She patiently guided me through the menu and process, which I really appreciated as a first-time customer.“

“Overall pleasant experience. Very few people other than our group of about 10. I had the 3 for $5 taco special. Very tasty and filling. Outstanding service. Go there.“

“Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! The food never disappoints! They have the best chips and salsa, and the chori-queso is sooooo good. We always get the pollo loco and fajita chicken quesadilla as our meals. Definitely try this place out!“

“Went there looking for authentic food and they did not disappoint food delicious thank you for the hospitality great drink as well👍🏽👍🏽“

“Best Mexican food I ever ate!!“

“This place is amazing! Service was excellent, food was absolutely perfect and so full of the flavors I was looking for! Asada and Lengua tacos with some refried beans for the win! If we lived here, this would be a go-to place every week! 10/10 recommend!“

“Nice little family-owned place. Great food and 2-for-1 margaritas!“

“I’m moving far away from this city and will probably never return, but yet I feel inclined to leave a review of this place because it’s THAT good. This will be the one place I will always miss, as it is the best food I had in Lafayette or anywhere else I ate at in my 2 years of living in LA (beats any Cajun, hamburgers Mexican, Italian, etc that I had here).

The quality is a 10/10, and their green sauce is AMAZING.“

“By farrrrr the best Mexican cuisine I’ve had in Lafayette yet! First off, chips are served with two sauces; one salsa and not sure if the other was queso but it sort of had an avocado taste to it. I got the taco plate with barbacoa, asada & al pastor. Everything came out very quickly. I don’t like the fancy, popular Mexican restaurants & I have been trying to find an authentic location for the longest but I can assure you this will be my permanent go to spot. Margaritas are big and strong just how I like it and they also but real fruit in them! Definitely a 1000/10! Will be back during happy hour 3-6pm for 2x1 drinks!“

“The BEST Mexican food in town! restaurant was super clean too.“

“la comida deliciosa😋💯 recomendado“

“I recently ordered doordash from here and the food tasted amazing. They were even kind enough to let me customize my order by request outside of the doordash options. Highly recommend the street tacos and will be back for more! 😋“

“Honestly I would drive 3 hours from my home In Texas just to eat here again!! Place was awesome and delicious!!! We are from AZ and it's hard to find good mexican food this Far East but it was good!!“

“Great atmosphere, live music, great service. And awesome food!“

“My first time trying this restaurant and it won’t be my last. Everything was delicious and our server was amazing. Very clean & all the staff was top notch.“

“The food was very fresh and the presentation was spot on, but I will have to give another dish a try. The refried beans were delicious and I preferred that seasoning over the boom boom sauce. The server went above and beyond. My friend's meal was somehow overlooked but the server did what he could to make it right. Will definitely give another item on the menu a try.“

“Great atmosphere, live music, great service. And awesome food!“

“We LOVE El Pollo Loco. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today. The staff was pleasant and the food was prompt. Thank you for the great lunch!“

“The best customer service! We love it here!!“

“Had a great lunch at Izzo's today. We tried the new al pastor and it was delicious. The person who helped us was fantastic. Everything was clean. We also witnessed the staff handle an irate and frankly rude individual with poise and restraint. Major props to this team!“

“Our food was delicious but our waiter was awesome! Thank you Fisher for the fantastic service !“

“The food at Lafondas was absolutely great, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was ecstatic. Everything about the experience was top tier.
And bartender Paul Hebert is the John Smith of Acadiana — a true legend behind the bar. Highly recommend!“

“The service was great. The food came out fairly quick and was delicious. I had the papusas, one with pork and cheese and one with bean and cheese, comes with coleslaw and ranchero sauce, it was the best thing I've had at any mexican restaurant. I swear someone's Mexican grandma is back there cooking. Highly recommend.“

“Love this place. I'd choose this over Chipotle any day. They're not stingy on their food portions!! I usually get their bowls and my bf usually gets their illegal sized burrito the size of my arm lol Yes, go to this place. I love it.“

“Su atención y sencillez fue lo primero les invito a disfrutar ricos platos el menú exquisito 😘😘😘“

“La mejor comida 😋😋😋 sin duda no tienes que esperar mucho tiempo!!“

“I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because service was a little slow, but other than that our experience was good. I like the Mexican decor and the layout of the restaurant. We sat outside because it was a little chilly inside, so bring a sweater if you get cold easily.“

“The food is phenomenal! I eat here multiple times and week. I would highly recommend any of the el dollar taco trucks.
BRING CASH! It's cash only. Don't worry it's worth the trip to the ATM.

It's a taco truck there is no seating“

“I got a $2.50 steak taco and it did not disappoint but be careful with that green sauce! 🤯🔥👀 Overall very good! 😋 Very friendly service. My food was quickly prepared. They give you a beeper to alert you when your food is ready so I chilled out in my car while waiting.“

“The service was quick, the food came out hot, and everything tasted fresh. The staff handled the rush without missing a beat, and the order was accurate down to the last detail. The place was clean, the prices were fair, and the whole experience was exactly what you hope for when grabbing fast food. I’ll definitely be coming back.“

“I have a very busy 4 year old adhd/autistic daughter And had been travelling for hours.
I was the only one in the restaurant and because my daughter is very busy doesn't communicate well. I don't bring her in a lot of places But because it was empty I thought It would be ok..
Everyone Was nice and I let the front desk Workers know that she doesn't sit still very much. And then I would put her in the corner where she wouldn't bother anyone...
Someone They're with the ability to Control the noise (radio) I can only assume had some kind of knowledge of children that are not "normal"..
Someone turned the radio down and My daughter seemed to settle a bit more..
To that person I say
Thank you for noticing!“

“Brisket Burrito was amazing!!!“
