Unfortunately, the food here is just too good. I feel it's necessary to warn people so they're not shocked by food that will knock their socks off. I highly recommend just about everything on their menu and with local Parish brews on tap, you're gonna love everything!
Food wasn't as good as I remember with the limited menu. But service was good
I had the catfish blue dog with blackend catfish delivered. To be honest, everything was just super bland. The seasoning on the catfish was non existent, and I don't know how they won any awards for that etouffee. Very little seasoning as well but slightly better than the catfish. Would not recommend the same dish to anyone else. Also very small portion size for $20. Catfish and crawfish are probably some of the cheapest meats available. Also no plasticware included. Seems to be a trend from other reviews. Maybe their other food is better?
After driving 8 hours and checking in to our hotel we simply wanted a good meal. Once again we were blown away by the food full of flavour and lots of it, The service was great and light hearted in my eyes near perfection.
As usual, Blue Dog never fails to please. Attended Brunch today. The service was top notch. The waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. The food came out quickly and hot, even though the restaurant was busy. I will definitely visit again.
Food was so good! Atmosphere was awesome. Happened to be there on a Friday night, come to find out they have live music on Friday nights. Great date night place, we will be back.
The best example of Southern style food that I've visited. Everything is great so don't ask me to pick something.
We ate breakfast which was somewhat different and tasty: Eggs over medium, bacon/sausage, collard greens, grits and boudin. Nice picture arrangements. Staff very hospitable and accommodating. We will be back.
Friendly and courteous staff. The Whiskey Bay flounder was a special treat. We went for the bread pudding, which made the 3-1/2 hour drive worth it.
Wonderful little restaurant.

Blue dog is always a treat we had a work after hours meeting there. The bartenders were super nice and the staff was very accommodating. This trip wasn't about brunch but I have to give a shout out to their amazing bunch in endless mimosas!
Seasonal draft beer (local sour), the crab linguine, and the beignets (the sauce.. THE SAUCE!!) were all out of sight. Rich flavor, great experience
I was expecting more from this place. I was not impressed with the burger and the fries tasted like frozen fries from the grocery store. My husband got grilled catfish and the slaw was not good at all and the portion of the fish looked like it was for a child. My daughter got the half and half and that looked very good and she said it tasted good. The atmosphere was nice and our wait staff was great. The food was not worth the $75.00 we spent on dinner.
Great atmosphere that matched the great food. Seafood Wontons, crawfish enchiladas, soft shell crab with shrimp and ettofee. Of course coffee Definitely would go back
The Bayou Teche Chicken was on point! I stole some of my wife's shrimp & grits - it was awesome too. Finished it off with bread pudding, which was also good. The staff was great, very attentive. Definitely earned a spot on our favorites list.
