Drove 8 hours in town… came to get the lunch special at 3 pm and at 3:01 pm was told we were too late. The “button” wouldn’t work to give us the lunch special. I think 1 minute late is a little overkill. Heard good things and wanted to try it but everyone was a little annoyed after that.

We traveled to Louisiana for a family wedding and arrived the night before the wedding and decided to try this restaurant. We were greeted by a three day trained waiter that unfortunately had not been trained properly. I ordered my steak medium well and it was brought to me rare And sent it back, not once but twice! The manager or owner finally stepped in and asked whether my steak was good or not. I cut into it, and it was still rare. Hats off to manager who finally managed to get the steak cooked properly on the third try. The manager was most gracious to comp the price of the steak off our bill. I spoke to the assistant manager and suggested that our waiter go through a shadowing period of training for more than just a day or two. We ordered refill for tea and it never got there. We would order other drinks and it would not be served. . I sat through All the other individuals in my party finishing their meals before I even got my steak. Very disappointing and we would not recommend this place solely because of the lack of service. The new waiter did not know the menu well enough to answer our questions. This was definitely a lack of training.

We travel to the Lafayette area just to eat good food. We decided to try this place because it was #1. Over-rated!!! We won’t go back. It took 40 minutes to get our appetizers then of course our food came out before we finished them.

It was well rated for Cajun cuisine so we went for lunch on a Friday. Fairly crowded but no wait. There were some very loud conversations around us but I think that was just bad luck. I had the lunch shrimp and tasso as well as bang bang gator appetizer. Both were delicious and the lunch portion was perfectly sized.

my first time here. Great service. staff was friendly, restuarant was clean and quiet other then the regular chatter. the staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. *Editing* To add the food was delicious! huge serving size. I recommend the crab dip appetizer so flavorful!

The food was absolutely amazing — everyone loved it, and the flavors were spot on. However, the service experience was extremely disappointing, especially given that this was for my wedding. I had several issues dealing with Linda — from her calling me on my wedding day to misspelling my name and even trying to change prices after I had already paid $3,700 in full. On the day of the event, we had to repeatedly ask staff to refill the buffet, which really shouldn’t happen at such an important event. I had also specifically requested Anna for my special night, but that request was ignored. For the amount of money spent, I expected a much smoother, more professional experience. The food deserves five stars, but the service fell short of what any bride should have to deal with on her wedding day.

2025 update: Unfortunately our more recent visits have not been as good as the first. This past visit my wife got the $15 lunch menu meal, they were out of the staple side. It was early in the day too, before lunch. I order a steak, $43 filet. This was the worst cut of meat I’ve been served at over $30. Do not waste your money on the larger filet, you do not get extra filet, you get the untrimmed fat that is not edible with your filet. This is the second time the filet was bad, I would not get the filet here again.
Older review: I’ve only been here once, but the grilled chicken was phenomenal and I plan to be back soon!
