So, the food was good here, as usual. However, we were a party of 6, and we had an incredibly long wait, an hour and a half, after being told the wait was 20-30 minutes. Then when we asked to sit separately so we could make an appointment we had, and the hostess refused to seat us separately and immediately sat a single person in an area where the 6 of us could have sat.Once we were our waitress did a good job. The hostess could have done a better job managing our expectations and requests. Other than that, I’d have given 5 stars.

Went in on an early Sunday morning 6/19/2022, for a birthday brunch with a friend for her daughter's birthday. A party of 6, with four of them being 18 and under. Me and my friend were seated and we had to wait for the teens to arrive, because what is time to them. Waitress was wonderful, Gabby, was her name. She helped us decide on drinks and some starter selections. Everything was going well until my friend stated to have stomach pains that cause her to be doubled over in pain. So me and her decided that we would take our food to go and let the birthday girl and her friends enjoy their brunch. After waiting for our food to be boxed for about 30 min. The waitress bless her heart informs me that our food was given to someone else. Since I could not wait any longer because my friend was in the car I told her to please take it off the ticket because we would not be able to wait for it as the rest of the party was finishing up. She said that she would and I left the credit card with the birthday girl to pay for the entire ticket. This is where the 2 star rating comes in. When we finally get home, the birthday girl informs us that they didn't take the food, that we never received, off the bill and gave us a military discount instead, and only gave her the receipt to sign and did not leave her a copy. I don't feel like it was ok or right for us to be charged or get a military discount since none of us served. We have sent a message to the establishment and asked if this is customary practice but we have not heard anything as of yet. Still sad I never got to try their food, as we had been waiting for months to get in and try it.

All I have to say is I feel bad for the people that work here because, first off the first coffee they brought me was so strong even after 6 creamers and 6 sugars that coffee was still so strong it turned my teeth 6 shades of brown and was enough to give me a heart attack. The second coffee was no better, it was so watery that there was no saving that disaster so I just settled with water. I sure hope the staff doesn’t make coffee and serve this to their husbands. Secondly, the French toast was $11 for 3 pieces just for it to taste like raw dough with a sprinkle of cinnamon on it. Needless to say I won’t be coming back here and would give 0 stars if I could.

When we arrived, the host told us it would be about a 30 minute wait. An hour had passed and noticed our table was ready. We kindly went ask the host when they were going to clean the table… the host didn’t even acknowledge us and said. Well I guess when the servers have time. And we asked about how much longer it going to be. She said, I don’t know I guess when they get to it and still no acknowledgment. Then we decided just to leave after how we were treated. Rude and unprofessional. It was our 1st visit here.

This restaurant has been a complete miss since it opened its new location. Signs everywhere saying, “Short staffed, so service and seating will be slow.” The music was loud and we were told that they couldn’t turn it down cause it was a corporate thing. The atmosphere was a bust: modern, meets southern, meets bar, meets brunch, meets 90’s music? The food was far too expensive for what was served. They were out of 6 major ingredients according to the server. This was the first thing we were told. My order was wrong. Just keep driving and go somewhere else.

This place gets super pack, so try to come early! They have a cool bloody mary bar, which looked very popular, but we did partake. We had the crab cake Benedict which was good.A spot to check out for brunch!Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!

I want to personally thank the entire staff of Brick&Spoon for their amazing and accommodating service for my son’s traveling baseball team all the way from Houston. You guys were AWESOME and we truly appreciate your professionalism. THANKS AGAIN FROM RISING STARS BASEBALL ASSOCIATION from Houston, TX.

They used to be amazing but this new location blows. The food is insanely overpriced for what it is, customer service is poor and the fact the manager is commenting under customers reviews is abhorrent. I was gonna talk about how poor my experience was but looking at other reviews, it takes back seat to how rude the owner is. Instead of fixing house, getting better workers and actually listening to customers, they decide to go off on people and make petty excuses for why they’re lacking. Take accountability and be an adult. Customers give YOU money, keep YOU in business. Not the other way around. That’s embarrassing, childish and unprofessional. Going off on customers and you wonder why you’re getting so much hate. If you treat customers like that, I can’t imagine how you treat coworkers. No wonder why you can’t find any decent, happy workers. Probably a bully. And I understand the customer is not always right. I work in the industry I get it. You can give good service overall and still have a few bad customers. But fighting every single one nail and tooth makes you look like problem. You can tastefully shut that down and keep your business looking put together but no. Gotta get the last jab. Grow up

My husband and I recently moved to Lafayette and visited Brick and Spoon twice. Both times the food was delicious and filling and the servers were pleasant and on point. The only drawback was both times the restaurant was cold and they were out of coffee the first visit and bloody marys the second visit, which was odd since we visited for breakfast, and early. Otherwise, both visits were very enjoyable. The omelets and grits were delicious, as were the mimosas.

I always go an extra 15-20 mins when traveling through to come to this perfect spot for authentic and fresh urban/ southern/ Cajun meals. Their grits are perfection and nothing I’ve ever ordered wasn’t delicious! Coffee on point too!!

I liked the old location better, since moving to this location the food has changed and has become disappointing. The server never gave us refills, took a long time to even get our drink orders as well. We sat for 20 minutes before someone finally asked if we had been served already. She then walked away twice when we tried to tell her we were ready to order. Two tables who got here after us got their food first and 25 minutes after she took our order she told us they didn’t have one of the items we ordered, we also ordered the truffle fries and got normal fries and when we pointed this out she said “well its truffle fries on your ticket so i mean do you want me to get you some because you already have fries” she was blonde and is wearing glasses, she never told us her name.

Wait times for brunch can be horrible some weekends, food is good, the best thing I’ve had so far is the build your own Bloody Mary and the crab cakes! Prices are decent. Atmosphere busy, some areas mildly crowded.

And excellent and stylish spot with absolutely decadent food (had the stuffed french bread with whip cream and a raspberry compote). Id recommend a salty or savory side to cut into the sweet, but also great for a full on cheat day.

A lovely place to get brunch! The food was great, though on the pricey side, the servings size is very good for its price! The crab cakes are wonderful, server was bright and efficient. The food wait time is medium, so don't come if you are impatient. For 40 bucks you will leave stuffed and happy.
