Lack luster gumbo: Arrived just after opening, ordered chicken and sausage gumbo with extra rice. Gumbo arrived and was luke warm. Had a overpowering taste of roux which really made the meal unworthwhile. I've eaten at Chris's a number of times before and not had this issue so there is the unknown of why it was soo bad this time. I will think twice before visiting again.
Chris's Special is a yummy blend of three meats. I got mine with lettuce and tomato instead of cabbage. Really tasty, would order it again. The atmosphere is loud so keep that in mind if you want to have a meaningful conversation with your group.
Let me say that I have frequented Chris’ for many years and this is truly the first time I have been disappointed.I called my order in at approximately 5:30, was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Left my house about 5:50(I live about 6 streets over from Chris’) got there and my order was not ready.
