Went for barbacoa on a Sunday but it was unavailable. It may not be offered every weekend or on Sundays. Opted for a Honduran breakfast platter with steak and partner got chilaquiles verde with skirt steak. The food was very good and our server was very pleasant.
I've been following El Hidalguense Mexican Restaurant for a while now. And decided today I wasn't going to Lafayette again without trying it. I had the Enchilada Mixta con Cecina and my wife had the Birria Tacos. Amazing food! I have a hard time describing how delicious our meals were. But, we're definitely going back! The food was DELICIOUS! All six of us who ate lunch were extremely satisfied with our dishes (my Fajita steak quesadilla was amazing), and the sopapillas were the best ever. Definitely will be making a return trip soon.
