Very bad bread last few times I’ve bought it there’s large holes in it. For the price of the bread it seems you would have a better quality of bread.

Not sure what is up with the poboy bread lately but couldn’t even eat with our supper tonight. Too dry to even feed it to our dogs. Quality had went down drastically! :(

I normally would give EVMaid 5 stars. Best bread ever, hands down. But lately, something is different. The bread loses freshness very quickly. Most disappointing are the holes and thin spots in the slices of "thin sandwich". I've eaten this bread as long as I can recall and have never experienced cavernous holes throughout the length of the bread, ruining my purchase/loaf. But my disappointment was not complete: I felt shock & disbelief as I saw the crust that touced the bottom of the bag come out covered in a black substance. As a lifelong customer, this was a first and hopefully a last. Blah! Disgusting, I thought! What is this stuff and why does it cover one side of the bread? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can no longer throw $ away on EVMaid bread until this black substance is removed and holes are filled. Once again, the struggle is real and bread prices are high! over and out ,

Love me some Evangeline Maid Bread. I went home the pass weekend and have to bring back a couple of loafs. The Bread is so fresh and soft. I just had me a Peanut Butter sandwich. I also eat it with Boudin and Cracklin. I wish it was sold in Houston. The Best Stop in opening I hope they carry it. .Evangeline Maid Bread you get a 10.Penny

Not sure what’s going on with this bread but it’s always been the go 2. Shelf life sucks! Dry and brittle days later, the hotdog and poboy buns are dry and break completely apart when you open them. I’ve seen people complain about a change in recipe, apparently that’s the issue bc Evangeline Maid bread products SUCK now!!! Very disappointing!! ?

In my earlier years I loved this bread for its freshness. Bought two loaves of Evangeline Maid Bread Sunday to make Boudin sandwiches. Quickly noticed it's not the same bread anymore and two days later the bread is hard as a Croquet Ball.R.I.P. Evangeline Maid Bread never again.
I grew up on Evangeline Bread and I am considering choosing another brand. Coarse and not fresh right off the shelf !!!!
