The food was THE BEST! Chef Michael came out to greet us and our server was beyond professional and accommodating! I definitely recommend visiting this restaurant!

Great food, easily subbed for my #GlutenFree diet and terrific staff! Cool place to have a relaxed meal or a great drink.

Visited G Tavern this past Sunday for a late brunch. It's a pleasant comfortable spot for drinks and some lighter fare. Although a couple of the workers called in, Nick the bartender was quite accommodating. The food was surprisingly good. We were really quite impressed, as we had never even heard of this place before. We'll definitely be back, and highly recommend G Tavern.

I used to love this place. As the few years have give by, it has rapidly gone downhill. The bar stools when they first opened were eclectic and quirky but they fit the place. The new bar stools do not fit the place at all. This may seem nitpicky but atmosphere is everything in a place like this. They used to have very good bartenders, now the bar manager spends more time talking to people he knows instead of making drinks and making sure that those that are ready to leave his establishment have a positive experience. The last two times I have visited G Tavern I have waited 20 minutes to get my ticket just to check out. I don't order food here anymore even though the food has always been excellent and I think the cooks are great. One thing that really bothers me is that they have handwritten signs on their walls. This is a very high class speakeasy type establishment that deserves better than a handwritten or Microsoft Word printed sign posted up on the wall with tape. They're off the cuff last minute signs really cheapens the look of the place. If you don't know that the bar is attached to the hotel, you would walk right past it and not think twice. They used to have a very good wine selection, now it's okay. Their top shelf liquor is not top shelf. The bar is messy and as someone who will pay money for a great experience, I don't feel I get that here anymore. When I come to town to visit family this used to be my go-to spot. I don't think of going here anymore, I go right down the sidewalk and end up at the gelato shop. I really think the new owners need to take heed to the experience they are providing their customers now as opposed to the experience that was provided when the place first opened. The decor is phenomenal I really really love the decor of this place. I can't find much else that's positive about the establishment anymore

When everything else is too full for lunch not a bad option. Boudin balls with smoked crawfish was awesome! Smoke flavor is prevalent and delicious. The burger could use some flavor, the aioli had no taste really and the meat just was not seasoned enough. Shame as it was beautiful and filling. Fries are great as they are soft which is my fav just too salty. Still decent food and good drinks.

Stopped by on a random Saturday at lunchtime looking for a new spot to eat DT. We saw they had just opened their patio which was great because we had our dog with us. Really good craft cocktails, food was well thought out and perfectly executed. Josh was our bartender and made the whole experience amazing. We will definitely go back.

Really cool spot with delicious food! Everything was delicious, but the most memorable was the brussels! Definitely worth checking out the spot!Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!

I was recently called out to fix a cooler at the G Tavern. While there I was treated with great professionalism from management and kitchen staff alike. As an HVAC professional I’ve seen lots of disgusting restaurant kitchens but to my surprise they’re kitchen was immaculate! So clean in fact I felt compelled to write this review. By the way for the best Reuben Sandwich in Lafayette the G Tavern is a must visit!

this has to be my new favorite place to dine in town. me & my boyfriend went on valentine’s day for the 4 course dinner they put on and were completely blown away. i cannot even put into words how incredible and flavorful every single course was. my boyfriend (who is pretty picky) could not stop eating the brussels sprouts and that’s almost unheard of for him. we both opted for the salmon and scalloped potatoes and here i am days later still reminiscing on them. we shared a bottle of organic bubbly rosè wish was quite delicious and i tried one of their seasonal cocktails. the live music, dim moody lighting, and eccentric decor really took this place to a 10. my boyfriend and works in the service industry and we have eaten at some of the most affordable places in town all the way up to the most expensive (*cough cough* ruffinos) and still both agreed that this became our favorite for date night. can’t wait to come back :)

Food was great, drinks were awesome too. Pastrahn-mi and the gourmet burger was very good. Goat cheese dip was a good appetizer. Bartender was very helpful for recommendations. The place is decorated very well, and has a nice atmosphere.

First off, the bar/restaurant is old timey, with swivel chairs at a long bar, darkened room, tables along the wall, display of liquor bottles...it reminds me of my dad's bar back in Ohio....love the feel of the place. Second, the menu is a surprise! Interesting sandwiches ( home smoked pastrami), salads and entrees await. Three of us, I had the grilled scallops on a bed of truffled butternut squash and believe me, I want to return and have this again. And now the story begins...the place was short staffed so the General Manager, Mick, helped out...he was not familiar with the wines and beers, but he did know the menu. He was great! He actually brought me a tasting of Chardonnay to see which one I preferred! The guys I was with were brought up to the bar to see what was on tap and he offered them tastings! Mick took our orders and for some reason, one of the orders went from a pastrami sandwich to grilled tuna...it was incredibly delicious, as was the salmon. Mick was very apologetic and comped the tuna....he really didn't have to do that, we are still talking about this restaurant and when my 2 friends return to Lafayette, that is where we are going. You wouldn't think, by the looks of the place, it would be a foodie paradise, but it is. AND, the drinks menu! Wow! Handcrafted drinks, great bartender...totally impressed with this little gem.

Most knowledgeable staff as far as bartenders and chefs. This place has a cool vibe that is almost like a speak easy. Every item ordered (10) at the bar enjoying our time as a double date was awesome. Food was fresh and delicious.
