Take out dinner was delicious! Enjoyed their barbacoa tacos, pupusas, and chicken enchiladas with mole' sauce. Barbacoa tacos was our favorite item. Super nice waitress that took order and brought out to me. Been coming here since they opened, always good fresh food.

I’ve always enjoyed their quesadillas. They are very good. However, the service I received today was subpar. I ordered a quesadilla, a large queso, and asked for an additional bag of chips. Chips and salsa are complementary to any order. I often order an extra bag of chips, so that will have enough, which I’m normally charged about $1.50. The waitress charged me five dollars for an extra chips and salsa. I tried to explain that I just wanted an extra bag of chips and not an extra salsa. We went back-and-forth for four or five minutes with her refusing to just charge me for a bag of chips, claiming that that is not possible, even though I do it all of the time. She finally went to the back, and another lady came up and brought me a second bag of chips for a dollar. In addition, when I left the restaurant, my large queso was a tiny cup that was only half full. Also, my quesadilla was chicken and steak instead of the steak and shrimp that I ordered.Service definitely needs some improvement.

Not what it used to be. When it first opened it was great. Not the same food quality or service. Sorry to say but probably our last time there.

Great food and their Menudo is second to none in this area. Chips and Salsa are very good as well. Price is a little high in my opinion but all in all if you have a little extra money and want great Menudo, then this is your place to go. Aside from the Menudo, the tacos are very good as well.

I’ve learned to temper my expectations when dining on Mexican food outside of Texas. And while La Pugua isn’t the worst I’ve had, it’s also not worth a repeat visit. Salsa was extremely bland. Basically tomatoes and onions, maybe garlic. No cilantro and definitely no type of peppers or spice of any kind. My cheese enchiladas were acceptable, but the beans were generic. More than likely from a can. And if they weren’t from a can, then they need to reevaluate their recipe. Rice….again…average at best.
