Food wasn’t all that. Oxtails had clumps of gravy, the dressing was smashed cornbread, the man at the counter was very nice, the lady in the back was very rude ! Yelling things out loud was not professional at all! Will never eat there again!!!! Was not worth 50$!!!

The rice was in clumbs. Tasted like microwaved old rice that had been refrigerated. The ox tails were not cooked today. The greens and corn bread was really good tho. I’ve eaten there plenty of times and the food was always awesome but today it was horrible. Spent $40 for unsatisfactory

I was in search of a good soul food place here in Lafayette I’m new to the area and wanted to try something new. I googled soul food near me and this place popped up with good reviews so I gave them a try. I must say I’m really Disappointed in the food ? I ordered baked chicken with macaroni & cheese with potato salad. The only thing satisfying was the chicken. The macaroni was literally spaghetti noodles with cheese sauce on it, I’ve never had macaroni like that and upon tasting it I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it. The gentleman working did replace my macaroni with a side of green beans which I was happy he gave me another side. The potato salad was super mushy not much flavor. I also ordered a lemonade and as soon as I took a sip I got a mouth full of sugar. I just overall wasn’t satisfied with my food. My boyfriend got the oxtail plate & he enjoyed his food but me personally I won’t be returning. The customer service was great but unfortunately the food was not.

The rice was gummy and mushy. I asked for the gravy on the side and it was still put on the rice. The mac and cheese was dry and salty. The yams needed less cinnamon or nutmeg, and more sugar. The turkey wing was tough and flavorless, to say it was stuffed. The entire meal gets about a 3, only because it was hot after delivery.

We live in Texas and drove 2hrs to check this place out. The food was amazing the staff was so friendly. It is a small location but the owner got us a table and chairs so we could sit down and enjoy our food. I definitely will be back. They also accommodate my grandson with some nuggets and fries.

Tried them when they were at the other location off of acorn dr and was disappointed in the food. You do get a good bit of food which is nice, but the seasoning choices are not so good. I also found a tiny feather in my Turkey wing, and yes I know turkeys have feathers, but it just kinda ended it for me lol they seem like nice people though, just not for me.

The food was bland. You would think since they advertise soul food it would have flavor. Extremely disappointed.. also noticed someone cooking BBQ outside but by the back area where trash was kept. A waste of money and time. Then out of nowhere the place was empty...supposedly they re-located...makes you wonder..did they have to find a smaller spot since barely anyone buys their food?

Food was terrible, overcooked, dry, and flavorless besides the salty Mac and cheese. The rice dressing tasted as if it was made from one of the frozen brands. I am very displeased and would give 0 stars if I could’ve, what a waste of money!

We went there last night at the last 15 minutes before they close. My wife and I don't like to do that for several reasons but my wife persisted that we try. It was absolutely Off the chain! good !!! The Owners and staff were very cordial. This business is a model for success!!

My husband and I started our Anniversary off early so passing through Lafayette we stop by Lumberjack, ordered food waited an hour to get it the ribs burnt, pork steak dried from microwave, the macaroni and cheese, the greens nothing tasted great, I ordered the cheeseburger y'all my ? was bigger than the patty, food hot but not good at all, we left everything there and walked out. the koolaid is the best thing in the building!! would not recommend $50 for food was a donation.

Found Lumberjack's by searching the TripAdvisor website while passing thru Lafayette. The restaurant is clean, and the owners are very friendly.I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken, which came with rice and gravy. The entire meal was delicious. First time that I had rice with gravy, and it was very tasty. As I said, the owners are very friendly, and I had a good chat with the husband who works the counter and also his wife who works the kitchen. Turns out she comes from northern N.Y. state and I'm from Montreal, so we knew all about each other's hometown. I will definitely be back if I pass this way again.
