My friend had one of the most disturbing experiences imaginable at Marley’s Sports Bar tonight. After discovering her car had been vandalized in the parking lot, she approached the staff at Marley’s to ask if they knew what happened to her car or if they had security footage. Instead of the employees showing any concern or professionalism, multiple employees first began to mock her, then proceeded to horrifically degrade her. The employees all insulted her physical appearance, they made vulgar comments about her weight, they cursed at her, they called her awful names and they screamed at her to “get out.” The short man with blonde hair was the main person involved, and he got multiple employees to join in on this extremely aggressive mocking, fat shaming and verbal abuse.
This type of treatment toward another human being is absolutely unacceptable. My friend who was attacked happens to work in the service industry herself, she is polite, friendly, respectful, and is known for tipping generously. She is a well respected server in our community. No human being deserves to be humiliated or verbally attacked this way, especially by employees representing a business. I am beyond disgusted.
Until this business takes accountability and enforces basic standards of professionalism, I strongly urge everyone to avoid Marley’s Sports Bar. Lafayette has plenty of better-run establishments that treat their guests, and their community, with basic decency. My heart breaks for my sweet friend who experienced such awful treatment tonight at this worthless establishment. As a service industry worker myself I will never step foot into such an unsafe environment and will encourage everyone I care about to avoid this place as well and take their business elsewhere.

My husband and I are from out of town and had the opportunity to visit Marleys for his bday. Great music, pool tables and the bartender was the sweetest especially after we had a horrible experience with another bar that was very rude to us. Marleys is 1000/10. Enjoyed our trip! Thank you!

The bouncer Wesley I believe between 8/8-8/9 was terribly rude to me and my friends and told us our ID’s were all fake when we were all above 21. Terrible stand on business.

They took my 40$ ID Saying it’s fake so I provided my LA Wallet. They wouldn’t accept any it and kicked me out. Now I since I bought a completely new id. They have nonstop harassed me. And have taken my ID anytime they see me. Even though I’m 18 now. I have full accessibility to the bar. I have stopped making quesadillas and almost everything that provided my health and diet. I hope you know I can sue you for this. And expect a response in your email. Good luck.

Me and my friends love to go out to Marley’s on the weekends. However, we have had awful experiences with the bouncer at the front door repeatedly. He manhandled my friend when she forgot to get a wristband. Like forcibly grabbed her and pulled her over. You should not put your hands on a woman like that. He also called my friend the n-word last week in a derogatory way. Other than him the bar is great. I love the music and the atmosphere. The female bartenders are the sweetest. Just beware of the door guy

Avoid this place! The staff was incredibly rude and provided the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. While in the courtyard, my wristband accidentally came off due to rain. Despite showing the wristband in my hand, they refused to let me back in. The staff insulted me, calling me “broke” for not buying a new wristband, and one employee approached me in a confrontational manner, as if looking for a fight. Another worker, who saw I originally had a wristband in the building, still refused entry and claimed he was being “nice” by not cursing me out. This establishment employs terrible staff and offers abysmal customer service. I strongly advise against visiting.

I had a good time until they charged my card for a tip that I never wrote on the reciept. be careful!

I’ve never been to a sports bar that they come and take your chair . I’m still shocked and baffled about this situation. Then they guy/bouncer whoever he was started to get cocky and very unprofessional. Very disrespectful and disappointing how Marleys has changed . Never will I be going back
