Best bakery in town. The fresh bread is spectacular. The pickled vegetables and jam selection is outstanding and always perfect. Highly recommend this place to everyone. The traditional king cake during Mardi Gras is superb.
All the locals know how valuable this bakery is to the community and are die hard faithful to its delicious baked goods, i wish i could buy a candle that has the heavenly aroma of this bakery, it just hits ya right when you walk in
It's one of my favorite bakeries in town. Poupart's has so much variety and always has many available desserts, breads, or pastries no matter when you visit. I usually visit for some sort of breakfast, and the gourmet cinnamon rolls are awesome!! Friendly people. But, I do wish they would carry some egg free options for my wife 😕
The best bakery ever. Every time I come back to visit my parents I pick up a few breads to take. Now I got my parents hooked on their fresh breads. I tell them to bring me fresh breads when come seeing me in Houston! I know there's a ton of bakeries there. But I grew up with Poupart from 30 plus years ago and still love it!
Thank you! Love the wonderful attentiveness and services given by all the young ladies!
Ordered 2 cakes and 2 dozen cupcakes for a baby shower. All of my guests raved about the cakes and cupcakes. Have been going here for decades. Will continue to use them.
I'm giving this one star because I suspect they don't pay thier employees well, despite being expensive.
I purchased a chicken sandwich and two small canolli. One of which is self serve.
I swipped my card and hit no tip which prompted an emotional reaction from the worker. Somewhat of desperation, anger and frustration.
Food was very good, and priced for being high end ; so it's alarming a worker would be driven to such demise over a 24$ check not tipping for putting canolli's in a box. The interaction took less than 40 seconds, imagine if we were expected to tip $4.80 for every 40 seconds of interaction with every worker. It's out of hand. Sad. But I can't support a business who doesn't pay it's workers.
Local treasure, we’re lucky to have this place in Lafayette. It’s slow and old school and 1000% worth the wait. I haven’t had it in a while, but the shrimp and crab bisque is an all time favorite. Try the quiche (go early) and the very French cheesecake.
This breaks my heart to post but something needs to be addressed. Last year you can see how beautiful the cookies were and the variety was amazing! Well worth the amount I spent. Because of how beautiful they were last year, I ordered again this year. Minimal variety and such a drastic change in quality, I feel I can do a better job myself. Which defeats the purpose of my order since it is to save me time! :( really hate to post this, but for the amount I spent on cookies this has to be discussed. Did ownership change? Did their wonderful cookie lady quit from last year? I don't know, but I'm not going back until I know things improve.
First time visitor! We got there right before closing and the staff were very friendly and accommodating when we asked questions.
We bought cookies to satisfy an after meal sweet tooth. The mini pecan pies looked so good we got a couple of those also.
Everything was great!! I look forward to my next trip to the area to drop in again.

Used to be my go too... Should have listen to my friends. It was so dry and tasteless. We literally threw it in the compost pile.

I’m driving through to Alabama and and came across this bakery as I was making some quick errands. I was amazed at their pastries. The almond cookies and almond croissant were perfect; the spinach quiche nice and flaky; the folds outstanding. They also have chicken salad, pimento cheese and some imported cheeses in the fridge. Hopefully i remember to stop on my way back and I can come prepared with a cooler to buy some more. I highly recommend this place. Especially to any travelers that want something better than the continental breakfast at your hotel. 🤣😂
UPDATE: Stopped again on my way back to Texas to buy a lot to take home. I wish they had some croissants but those sell fast. In addition to buying pastries I tried the chicken salad and a frozen tray of spaghetti and a couple of sandwiches (chicken salad and mufalata). The chicken salad croissant and the mufalata were delicious. The tub of chicken salad seemed a bit too salty and had a faint fishy taste kind of like crab/crawfish. I don’t like seafood and can taste that real quick. The spaghetti was real good.

I used to love petit fours from Pouparts. I ordered some recently for a party I was hosting- they were a fraction of the size they used to be and tasted stale. I was extremely disappointed as they used to be my favorite in Lafayette.

Tried to get a birthday cake for my daughter there. They responded one time with questions, and when I followed up we never heard from them again. Hopefully we can get a cake elsewhere. With their reputation and prices, I would expect better customer service.
