During our recent trip to Louisiana, we went on a mission to try as many gumbos as possible so we ordered every gumbo and etouffee on every menu of every restaurant we visited. It's a lot of fun to see how many variations there are of this classic dish. Prejean is not a fancy place but it delivers authentic Cajun flavors (we loved their gumbos!) with a super friendly staff and great Cajun live music. It's a bit outside Lafayette but totally worth the drive!

Everything was amazing but the seafood gumbo was the best I've ever had. It's the next day and I can't stop thinking about it. The blueberry lemon drop martini was also delish!

We travel to this area every year, just to eat. We always try to go to Prejean’s. It is consistent. Char broiled oysters are better than anywhere we have had them.

There were problems but who doesn't have them. The person we spoke to said they had just let there help go because of the rain and it was slow. All of a sudden there came a crowd of people. The part that was very bad was they sat us at a table that had rice all over on the floor and chair also the table wasn't that clean. I noticed there were other clean tables in the area.

My husband and I just got back from vacation and were craving some Prejean’s gumbo! Got a bowl last night that was 24oz for $18. Ordered two more today because we just love it and got two 16oz at $18 each. Filled up barely over halfway at that. When we called to ask if that was a mistake, they said that they changed their sizes overnight. I don’t know about yall, but this is not worth the price. It sounds like they were running low on gumbo and didn’t want to miss the sale so they shorted us. A shameful business practice that I never would expect from Prejean’s. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.

We were recently on a Louisiana trip. So we stopped in at Prejean's. They have ample parking and the place is well kept. The service and food was outstanding. Prices are about average. I would definitely go back while I'm in area. This Cajun restaurant is the real deal.

If you have never had Cajun food this is the place to try it. Our table ordered an assortment of things to try and share with the table. Everything was delicious but the service is what made dinner top notch. Everyone was welcoming and friendly and no one acted like they were “just doing their job”. Everyone is so genuine and kind. I wish I could remember our waitress’ name because she was so engaging and good to my kids. We will definitely be back next time we come to town.

We came at around 1:00 and there weren’t very many people. We brought friends visiting from Indiana to give them a good meal. It took about 5 minutes to seat us (no one was in front of us). My friend ordered gumbo but the must have forgotten. It took two requests to get it. Overall, the food was cold and the meat tough RXCEPT for a burger which was extremely good. Our friends left most of their food and we had an early supper. Perhaps it was just an off day. Maybe, if we go again, next time will be better.

Food was amazing. Our waitress was phenomenal and there were many people for my Aunt's 100th birthday. She went over and above. I am sorry, I forgot her name.
I live in Texas, but my next trip to Lafayette I will be there to eat.
