Delicious food and quick service
Super hot inside, seated next to the door which never closed. Waited 45 minutes to be seated, and waited another 45 minutes for our food, & the service was very average at best. It was not a pleasant dining experience.
A little slow but the place is comfortable and the food was worth it. Staff is friendly and kept up with drinks, they work as a great team. I recommend the pork chops and my husband loved the gumbo.
Great home cooking! Friendly and fast service for lunch or dinner. Everything is good! Good price, clean and seasoned. Not bland or chain restaurant. Family owned and staffed. Will not disappoint. Treat yourself to something this small quaint cafe has to offer.
Fantastic first time, great service and good was great also. Easy going atmosphere, no pressure no rush, just simply order and enjoy
Shout out to our waitress Ms. Ronda for excellent service. The food was superb as well. ??

WOW! Rachael's is outstanding!??? Officially my new favorite restaurant! I ordered a bowl of crawfish bisque with a side of potato salad. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Absolutely delicious! ?. We were seated quickly and our food arrived to the table not long after. Very friendly service. Clean restaurant. Seating and parking is a little tight but not too bad. This is to be expected with homestyle cooking that tastes this good. I advise getting there by 11 because by 11:30 every table was occupied. I nibbled on a friend's crab claws and they were delicious as well. Can't wait to return and try many other dishes! This is comfort food at its best at good price points. I also like the convenience of how you pay instantly with a card at the table.

I never go from a great experience to a horrible one. We were here several months ago and everything was fantastic. Tonight is probably top 5 worst dining experience I can remember. First they were very crowded so I get they were slow but this was beyond acceptable. 30 minutes to take a drink order and 1 hour 15 minutes for bad food. Wife had okra and shrimp. Okra soggy and old, shrimp looked good but tasted too fishy, fresh shrimp tastes like shrimp, not fish. My red beans were ok, but tasted like they added liquid smoke. Not good but I could eat it. Chicken and sausage gumbo, really? Dish water would be better, or maybe that’s what it actually was. Horrible. We will give this place another go in a few months, just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. Disappointed

We will not be returning. Many people today overheard the manager belittle and berate a delivery driver. Seeing a grown man put his finger in a woman’s face is unacceptable and does not exemplify morals of an establishment I want to spend my hard-earned American dollar at, no matter how good the product. This lady is also an employee on the clock while doing a service that brings YOUR restaurant more money. Very embarrassing.

The food was just ok and while they were cordial, something felt off.
I’ve been living in Lafayette for 15 years, and I have had some of the best service at Rachael’s. You can tell all of the staff have a great camaraderie, not only by watching their interaction, but by the way it comes through in their service. Well done!
Rachael's feels like more of an accurate representation of Cajun food and culture than Prejean's, but I never hear anyone talking about it. It has that down home, comfort food feel to it, but you can get a pretty healthy meal there, too, so just know that both sides of the spectrum can enjoy themselves at Rachael's Café.
On the healthier/"Fit" side of their menu: their Red Snapper, Tilapia, & Grouper entrees are a good size. Adding the optional sauteed mushrooms & onions ups the taste even more. The Oven Roasted Beets, Brussels Sprouts, Coconut Sweet Potatoes, Baked Sweet Potato, Okra, Asparagus & Cauliflower "Rice" are all good side dishes. Considering the portion size, as well as the quality of the oil used to prepare my food, I'm satisfied with their menu prices.
On the more indulgent side of their menu: the Crabmeat Au Gratin and the Fried Chicken are lovely. I also think that the size of their Crab Patty Burger is perfect and left me happily full.
I adore this little hole in the wall & hope they continue thriving for years to come.

The roux sauce for the etouffee wasn't right but my biggest issue was the rice. Way too much rice and it was "heavy" like it had been over cooked. It wasn't your normal white rice. The jambalaya had the same rice. Service was great and the ambiance was homey.
