I call this special restaurant from time to time since I like the good mood that is outline this place. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and well trained. The service is deeply efficient. Needless to say, the food you eat is exceptionaly good. I ate there many times and I was always happy. The pay is modest. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Plate lunch was perfect - etouffe, fried catfish, potato salad, corn were all delicious. Staff is super friendly too, especially Reggie

We dropped by yesterday, but it was closed. The sign reads something about moving on to the next project. We were devastated, literally standing silent for a few minutes. If it is closed, it's a huge loss for lafayette. Best burgers and chicken in town.

This was my first time visiting and I didn’t know what to expect, when my gf and I walked in we weren’t greeted by anybody so we were just kinda clueless tbh. So I’m assuming the owner , scolded the hostess for not greeting us or telling us what was available for lunch. Soon after that, we were treated to mediocre customer service (forgetting who wanted what drink, rather be anywhere else than here vibe). Although the food was very good, the catfish was amazing ! And the owner came out the back and checked up on us and apologized which was very thoughtful.

We came on a Sunday and watched the Saints play while we ate. It was amazing. They don't have the full menu on Sunday. Yet, what they have is fantastic. I wanted it so bad that by the time I thought to take a picture of this delicious food it was gone.

Went for the menu, got the Sunday special, couldn't be happier! We were driving back from New Orleans and needed a spot to feed 8 quickly. Found Reggie's Soulfood on yelp and decided this was the spot for us. The menu pics looked awesome and I couldn't wait to try. Upon entering the saints game was going strong, the staff was very welcoming and made us feel at home. We quickly noticed the regular menu wasn't available and were told that on Sundays they did a separate menu. Menu was your choice of meat (brisket, sausage, fried chicken, or short ribs) dirty rice, and two sides (potato salad, beans, Mac and cheese, cornbread casserole). The table all got something different and I tried it all....NOTHING DISAPPOINTED! Everything was so wonderfully made. My only regret was not being able to stay another night to try the main menu on Monday. All in all, this place was perfect! Hospitality, fantastic environment, and next level food. Go see Reggie, you CANT be disappointed!

I love eating here. It's always a warm welcome and the food has always been delicious! Reggie runs his restaurant with dedication, devotion and enthusiasm. Try any of the salads, the ghetto burger or anything for that matter and you will not be disappointed.

Fried chicken was great, no complaints. However, it wasn't ready when we ordered. No biggie, don't mind waiting for hot food. But while they were waiting for my partners fried chicken, they took it upon themselves to plate up my food. No suprises after 10 minutes of sitting on the counter waiting for the chicken, and the short 3 minute drive home, my food was cold. Not only was it cold, it was the most basic mac and cheese I've ever had, what seemed like canned beans and the saddest excuse for bbq brisket I've ever paid money for. If i got it from a high school football tailgate, no complaints, but i paid $11 for dry, fatty brisket, that tasted like its been sitting in a hotwell for days. I'm from kansas so maybe I'm biased, I am from bbq country and this is seafood country. Service was unwelcoming, too, they didn't seem to want my business. I have worked in food service for almost 10 years, so i know they could've been having a bad day. I wasn't going to write a review but this place really ruined my day, I don't let myself eat out often, and this place's overpriced excuse for soulfood was my treat for the week. It was really my fault for trying something new, my bad.

The Party's Here!

Some things on the menu are freaking incredible (BBQ brisket) and some things are meh (ghetto hotpocket). The servers are awesome and so nice! I wish the set up the restaurant was more nice looking and restaurant like especially the seating...the chairs and the booths are very hard and old looking. This place has the potential to be a Hotspot in lafayette!

Nice atmosphere, great cheeseburgers! I did not like the to-go boxes for all orders including dine in customers. Maybe plastic plates for dine in and to-go boxes for to-go customers??? All in all it was a fun evening.

Cool vibe, cool place and people. Sad food, nice size servings, but We ordered the ribs and brisket, the rice dressing taste of burnt and it was great on the bottom of the pan and should've never been served, the brisket was good nothing fantastic but you got 3 thin slices of it. They did not have Fountain drinks and everything was only bottled in 2.50 a bottle. For two people and it being over 30 bucks it was disappointing. For soul food type of restaurant I expected there to be cornbread and greens lots of flavor and everything barely got a C on a grade scale. We won't be back

Had the j*** chicken and "lil wayne". Great choices, only criticism would be the fry portions but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food. Definitely will be back.
