Simply put I would have been better off to had gone to one of the local Chinese buffets. I looked them up online and it seemed to have decent reviews overall. I went in to place a to go order, having checked out the menu online. First red flag, place had a damp feel when I went in and smelled of old / used fry oil. Second red flag, multiple menu items weren't available. One or two I could understand but it seemed as though there were more not then were. Pork Wontons - nope, Hot and Sour Soup - nope, Sliced Pork - nope, it was easier to have the waitress just to tell me what my choices were. Third red flag, the waitress was in too much of a hurry. I told her it was my first time there. Turns out she was to busy watching a video on her phone about how to filet fish. Within seconds of handing me my receipt she was seated back at her bowl of whatever and slurping and surfing away. Finally, in the end I had ordered two main dishes and a large order of pan fried dumplings. Total cost $50 and some change. Yeap that's right $50 bucks!!! Got home and one of the dishes was supposed to be sweet and sour spare ribs (pork) however what I got was a braised shortrib (beef) in a brown sauce that taste like it's had sugar mixed in (see picture.) The other main is sliced beef in salt bean sauce, not what I wanted (cumin beef) but what they had. Like I said, better off going to one of the buffets in town cause this place is nothing to brag about and not worth the experience. Food: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Atmosphere: 1/5

It is our second time here and we absolutely love it. The food is not only authentic but is also very good. Lafayette is so lucky to have this hidden gem offering delicious food that cannot be found else where in Laffy, unless you are in a big city chinatown. Do not come here if you are expecting or wanting the typical chinese-american chinese food. Service is very friendly and atmosphere is very clean and comfortable. Thank you for bringing your services here to Lafayette.

Went to Spicy House for the first time last weekend and this place was fantastic! The food was cooked fresh and hot. I got the combo lo mein which was delicious with so much flavor. My daughter had the Kung Pao Chicken and my husband had a cold noodle dish. Everyone enjoyed their food. Only small downside is that they bring out all the food separately but that’s because it’s being made fresh. Definitely worth giving a try!!
Didn’t want to serve me and wasn’t honest about it.
Food was good, what you’d expect from traditional Sichuan cooking. We had the mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and scallion pancakes. The service was great but the restaurant needs some upgrades.

This is a humble little place that deserves more space. The attractive waitress is efficient and curtious but can also recommend best choices for you.
The kitchen staff has its own style which is far more refined to similare places. it is worth going here to try this take on Asian food. The spices are well balanced and not overpowering.
My wife loves the soups. I tend toard the pork and beef -- especially the ribs (not American style) and the crispy. dishes. This last time I had the pork and shrimp dumplings and scalion pancakes off the appetiser menu. both are excellent choices.
The kitchen understands how to turn american french fries into an international spicy treat. Do not shy away from this little find.
Finally, some may be hesitant to try the intestines. They have several dishes that feature this unique ingredient. Don't be shy. They cook it well and it is a great addition to those dishes where it is used.

Bummed. I just picked up chicken noodles and the chicken was not edible! The chicken was like rubber!! Hate to put a bad review but the reviews were good so I was expecting good food. The noodle flavor wasn’t bad but the chicken… Yuck. Wasted $15! Won’t be back!!

Over priced for what you get, didn’t get any rice with entree for some reason. Taste was okay, not worth my time though, there’s better more reasonable in town
