Disappointing Experience – Repeatedly!

Today, I visited Zeus Café UL and ordered the Shawarma Plate Combo, paying with my Cajun Card. To my surprise, they still deducted tax, even though Cajun Card payments are supposed to be tax-free.

Worse, when I received my order, there was no bread. Can you imagine shawarma without bread? When I asked about it, they said I had chosen fries instead of hummus, but that’s nowhere explained on the menu.

On top of that, the fountain drink wasn’t refillable. Isn’t this the U.S., where most places offer refills?

This was my third visit, and each time I’ve encountered a different issue. Honestly, this place is consistently disappointing. Not recommended!

Breaux Bridge location.. disappointed that I didn't get any cucumber dip with my grape leaves and when I asked for a small 1 oz hummous, it didn't even come with a single pita bread. People behind the counter are not friendly.

Worst online ordering experience of my life. If they aren't pushing users to an expensive third party delivery service they are deceiving the user with cheaper prices from a different location and then charging a higher price. Shawarma Guys and Athena will be my only choices in Lafayette from now on.

Outward appearance not great but Nice little place inside. Very friendly staff. Wonderful selection of food and all very reasonable.

While traveling on business we stopped at Zeus for lunch heading out from the airport to other areas. Zeus has an extensive menu. We had the hummus sampler (pick 3 styles of hummus from a choice of 5), I had the Feta salad with gyro lamb and my colleague had the chicken Shawarma salad. With coffee, tax, and tip it came to $20 per person, so not a cheap lunch but everything was very good so a fair value.

Meat was tender and moist. Rise was the same. Hummus was classic. Peta bread wasamazing. Very soft and a little puffed up. The only thing I would improve on, the salad needed more cheese, it lacked the saltiness that is classic for Greek salad.

Zeus’ is open for dining in, and there wasn’t a big crowd on Friday night. We were in town for a volleyball tournament. But we ended up being so glad we stopped in! Leslie our server was attentive and helpful, especially since my husband and I are eating vegan. There are many vegetarian choices; they left out the feta for our salads. The veg stuffed grape leaves were great: tangy and lemony. The moussaka was very flavorful in a thick tomato broth. Hummus and grilled veggies were fabulous. But the mujaddara was the absolute best!! My daughter got the gyro pasta, which she loved, and brought most of the huge portion home. Overall a great experience & highly recommend!

Zeus is one of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette. The Food is excellent and is always fresh and the service is always great. Margo served me tonight. And she was so professional and competent.....an example of what all professional servers should be like....Keep up the great work!!!

We recently dined at Zeus for dinner. The place was not busy at all and our waitress seemed to only be waiting on our table of five. Unfortunately, her service was awful. She seemed to mean well, but moved very slow in regards to bringing us drinks and taking our order. Someone at the table ordered a martini, which was on special that evening. We watched her for ten minutes trying to make the martini in the bar. She finally admitted she didn’t have all the ingredients but was making up a special drink instead. The order came out from the kitchen wrong and when she brought us the bills, they were incorrect. We had also asked for a dish to take home, she said she was waiting to put the order in so it would be fresh, but then came and asked us twice what the order was suppose to be. She ended up forgetting to give it to us to go. Thankfully we realized as we were waking out to the car we didn’t have it. I will say the food was tasty, though because of the awful service I will not be going back.

Large menu, fresh food. Friendly staff. Good portions. Great for vegetarians and vegans, lots of options. Good prices, too.

Fun atmosphere, great staff, good food, convenient oil center location - what more can you say? Lots more, but go and try yourself.

nothing exciting here. average at best. i always enjoy shawarma...except today. maybe it was just me that afternoon but just not as good as last time. only thing i enjoyed was the kibbeh. i should have eaten just kibbeh and hummus and passed on everything else. that would have made this forgettable meal at least above barely average. i know that i can find a better meal elsewhere, so i'm off to do that.

My wife, my best friend, his wife and I have been eating at Zeus on Pinhook since it opened. We hadn't been there I awhile so I suggested we go there to eat last Friday. My mistake! Our waitress was young and as we could tell once she started waiting on us, very inexperienced. After we ordered nothing, beginning with the drinks came out at the same time. Drinks came out randomly as did the food. Mine came out last, after everyone politely waited, while their food got cold. Let me preface this with I pretty much get the same thing every time. When she finally puts the food down in front of me it is nothing like it has ever been before, it is pitiful looking. I wish had taken a picture, but I was in such shock it did not come to mind. I am paying over $15 for my plate of food and there is hardly anything on my plate. Nothing close to what I am used to getting, plus the presentation was awful. As the gentleman in an earlier review excellently stated, the lettuce on my plate may have been fresh last week. As soon as it was set down I complained to our waitress. She did not know what to do or say, so she says well what do you want me to do about it. Really? I told her she needed to get the manager out here. Almost in tears she leaves and goes in the back but does not come back out and neither does the manager. Come to find out there is no manager and it's a Friday night and nobody is in charge. Well then I'll talk to the cook. The cook is up front so I go up to talk to him, I begin to complain and he looks at me with a dumb look on his face. He is Mexican and does not speak English. All I'm getting is grief from the other waitress for upsetting the our waitress and making her cry. I've had enough. I pay for everyone except for mine, which I have them take off of the check, but not before a confrontation on that topic because no one has the authority to take it off of the check. Wow. Take it off of the check or we are all leaving without paying, I tell her. Our waitress comes out of hiding long enough to fix the bill, then heads back to cry some more. I pay the bill we leave, never to go back again.

I had lunch and ordered grape leaves as I sat down. While reading the menu I saw there was an option to order 5 dishes, INCLUDING grape leaves. Price 10,99. Asking whether I could just add another four dishes and use that option. The response was no. The cost of the separately ordered grape leaves, 5:50. The chicken shawarma was rock hard and the lettuce in the feta salad was fresh last week The manager obviously have no clue regarding customer service. No wonder the place was empty.
