Title: Worst Experience Ever!

I had the most disappointing experience at this store. I placed an online order for a loaf of bread, excited to pick it up within 20 minutes. After driving across the city, I arrived only to be told they were out of stock. Despite my frustration, the staff seemed unconcerned and insisted I would have to come back on Monday, with no guarantee the item would even be available then.

I expressed my dissatisfaction, as I had already paid and driven a significant distance. Unfortunately, they refused to provide any written confirmation that my order was unfulfilled and wouldn't allow me to speak to a manager or file a complaint. This treatment is completely unacceptable.

I expected better customer service, and I will not be returning. Save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere!

I originally reviewed 6 years ago & I continue to enjoy all I order from Great Harvest. Typically, I go for breakfast sandwich- egg, bacon, Havarti cheese, Avocado & herb spread. It is consistently delish. Also, their cherry almond shortbread cookies are scrumptious. You can taste the almond, combined with slight tartness of cherries. These cookies are not too sweet - a true shortbread. However, they are expensive.

Everything I have had from Great Harvest Bread is delicious - from savory to sweet, ordered sandwiches to take-home bread, muffins, etc. Very friendly, helpful staff.

The food and pastries were excellent. It's a must stop whenever we're traveling through Lake Charle.

My sister and I were visiting our childhood home and asked where we could find the best King Cake. Being able to get samples was like a dessert. So I loaded up with sweet breads, King Cake and one over the top loaf of bread! We will travel 4 hours to purchase the best breads we’ve had! Until we visit again ….

Thanks for being open selling coffee and king cakes on Mardi Gras! The ladies working today were friendly and festive. Blueberry cream cheese King Cake is my favorite! Also can't beat a hot latte in this rainy weather. Thanks!!! 🎉

Best King cake ever

After my appointment I wanted some shrimp and corn chowder. Great harvest has the absolute best! So I arrived, got in line. I was promptly waited on. I purchased a brownie, lemon bar, blueberry king cake, and a bowl of soup with sourdough bread. The price of the king cake was higher than expected. But, it's worth it.

The chowder took no time at all to come out, maybe five minutes. It was perfect. Absolutely perfect. The bread was toasted and was so great with my chowder.
I finished eating and left. If you haven't tried it, you should!
I tried one bite of king cake when I met with a friend it was good. She did not want to try it at first because she isn't a huge fan of blueberry. But she loved it.

Adorable bakery and lunch spot. I had chicken salad sandwich (has apples and nuts) and a cup of broccoli and cheese soup(very cheesy needed salt and pepper). Both were good but not great. Sandwich had too much bread not enough filling. Half and sandwich and cups of soup for almost 15$. The real draw to come here is the king cake. Several of my friends mentioned it was the best in town. After having a slice of someone else I had to get one. It is a bready cinnamon roll style king cake. And I really enjoyed the blueberry cream cheese. One king cake would serve 10/12 and cost about 35$. The restaurant is very cute and full of locals.

E every time I travel to Lake Charles or NOLA, I always stop at Great Harvest for breakfast or lunch.

The ladies that take the orders are very nice and kind. The lemon bars are amazing. But I give them 1 star because they have been out of sourdough bread the last 2 times I was in there. Last week I went in after the lunch rush and was told that it sells out quickly and to come in early in the morning. I came in this morning to get a loaf and some lemon bars because my family loves them and they are totally out of sourdough. The lady told me that they didn't have any at all this morning and doesn't know why they don't make more. We usually buy our sourdough loafs from HEB for $4 but I want to see what Great Harvest bread is all about at least once! I'll try one more time next week and if it isnon the shelf I'm just going to forget trying to get bread here.
