Wow the lady that answerers the phone there is horrible and rude I've never went to a ""Restaurant "" and got treated and talked to like this lady did !!! Smh they really can't offord to but They sure know how to run away good paying customers!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheeseburger was not great. Chicken was ok,but very small pieces. Very expensive for the quality of the food.

Yall really sleeping on mama Retas if you ain’t had it yet! It’s like getting Sunday dinner at mom or Mawmaws house but any day of the week. Everything’s delicious, hot, fresh, and ready fast. And fairly priced! I would’ve taken a picture but I couldn’t wait it was too good.

We had enough food for 2 days, and the reviews are on point. Had meat loaf, fried okra, black eye peas, mac and cheese, cornbread, and greens. Had take out only, so glad I turned around. Absolutely the best food and the lady that waited on us was so nice.

We stopped here on the way to NOLA and literally by far best fried catfish I’ve ever had. Growing up fishing and having catfish fry’s on the regular, this place out did them all. This is a must to stop at!

I'd Order the 8PC Chicken Dinner And my FOOD WAS VERY VERY GOOD AND everyone was very Nice Friendly and clean I'd will definitely recommend THIS PLACE.

We got the two piece fried chicken with onion rings and Mac and cheese! It was amazing!!! The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend giving this MaMa Reta’s! We will definitely be back! Oh and the drive through makes it quick and easy! Ohhhhh I can’t forgot the cornbread!!!! It was amazing!!!!

I’ll start by saying I am extremely critical of food, so I can only leave my honest opinion of this restaurant….. It’s my first time in Lake Charles and came across this restaurant online. Very welcoming and hospitable. I went with the chicken wings & onion rings and was not disappointed. Wings were cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned to where it’s not too little/too much, pretty golden color, it was overall just perfect. The onion rings were amazing as well and cooked just right. Nice and crispy! I’m not much of a sauce person, but did enjoy dipping a ring or two in this sauce that came with it. I’m not sure what kind, but even that was a 10/10. Overall the customer service, food, and even food presentation was top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back

We picked this based on Google on our way to Houston, and I am so glad we did! We ordered 4 chicken boxes with sides, and the chicken was huge, juicy, and delicious! It is salty and crispy the way I love it and grew up eating it. Mama Reta came to the window to say his, and she explained that she grew up in the house where her drive through restaurant is now housed (and her kids and grandkids). The sweet tea was SWEET! Loved it. The fried okra was perfect and I loved the mustard greens ? she surprised us with 4 little pieces of cake. We will be back to visit Mama Reta again! Highly, highly recommend for authentic southern cooking.

Wow! First time coming through. The Thursday dark smothered chicken found a place in my heart.
Kids ordered the tender box and it was awesome. Perfect seasoned fries, chicken, and sauces.
Our last bag had cake! Yea, the good stuff. There is nothing like a complete home style meal.
This will be a staple in our travels.

Hands Down BEST fried chicken!! Worth the drive from anywhere! The owner had just opened, yes we were early!!! She is a beautiful lady with lots of energy & a kind spirit. The chicken was fresh, hot, well seasoned, juicy & just Plain GOOD!!! Can't wait to come back & try the gumbo & a Po-boy. Y'all gotta get you some!!!

Haven't been so pleased with a purchased meal in a long time. I had the baked chicken special and everything was far better than I expected. If you eat something from here that you don't like, you are wrong and need to get yourself right.
