Paul's Rib Shack Barbecue

What a amazing thing this place is doing!
Through fresh eyes, this was my first visit to tis play.
The guest service was top notch . Calm atmosphere where it wasn't hard getting you food order in. I really feel like I was visiting Paul in his own back yard. Didn't feel like it was the teams job, but their passion and dream.
Picture this with me,
eating a nice hot BBQ sandwiches, in the back yard, under a tree lite up, and the fresh smell of BBQ grill in the air. Fans blowing, National Flag blowing, National Anthem sang (by the owner Paul) , nice glass of cold beer and the music of the Patio Daddios!!!
On top of that, Paul walking around visiting with his guest to make sure they were happy! Feel like home off a busy road!
At this place they look for a way to say YES to their guests.

I came specifically for the Friday special. Ruben, drove almost a hour to get there. Got the brisket and 3 meat po bo boy as well. Brisket absolutely amazing the BBQ sauce with it lorddddd. Po boy was awesome. Not 18$ worth but awesome. The issue is got the Ruben got all the way home preparing myself to eat this. Took one bite no sauce, no sauerkraut.. weird. Take the sandwich apart non zero of either two. Just meat. Disappointed. Ither than that great place would eat again.

There at 1215 pm opens at 11 not many people no way 5 pounds of meat plus no dirty rice didn’t tell me till check out I would of gotten a sandwich not worth the money sorry never again this place went down from last time we came sad

Great outdoor area that's very large and inviting. The parking could be better. Overall a down right decent experience all 4 visits thus far.

They are amazing! Fast and friendly service.The brisket is very tender, regular and jalapeño sausage, Mac & cheese, and their red beans are amazing! Will definitely be back again soon. 😊🔥

This place was awesome Ryder ,Annalie and Gabbie gave me a great experience and make me wanna come back again I even bought seconds. I’ll come check this place out even have like a little live band outside great atmosphere very clean.

The food was very good. I love that they use beef tallow instead of seed oils! You can taste the difference! The bread pudding was one of the best I've had anywhere. Loved the atmosphere as well will definitely be back for more!

So we really wanted to enjoy this place because there aren't many BBQ places around. The pulled pork was quite good but the brisket was not. There was so much fat on each slice that probably about 30% of the weight was just that. The baked beans had a weird consistency, like maybe they had been sitting around for hours and turned to mush. The dirty rice had obviously been sitting around for a long time as the meat had turned black and was very hard. The atmosphere was okay although the tables could be cleaned between customers.

Went in with a party of 8 Briketts, chicken all the meats had been sitting in a warm plate all day, and did not have all the vegitables on the menu

We're from New Orleans and New Orleans is a food city. So we know what good food tastes like! On our way back from Houston we had a craving for barbecue. After bypassing some shady looking barbecue establishments around Beaumont we decided on Paul's Rib Shack in Lake Charles. Paul did not disappoint!! The pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage, mac and cheese, red beans and rice as well as the fried bread pudding were all AWESOME! We definitely enjoyed the food and will stop again on our next trip to Houston. Honestly I don't even know if there really is a Paul but if there is thanks for the good food Paul!!
