I love Pujo Street food but the service is really good or really bad. Our service on December 23, 2024 was really bad. We were entertaining our in laws, and my god, the lack of service was very embarrassing. The food at Pujo never disappoints. Stop hiring crappy servers.

Today was my first time here and it was a lovely experience! Our server was friendly and attentive and I appreciated his honestly when he admitted that he wasn't very good at making cappuccinos when I ordered one because it honestly would have been disappointing to get a bad cappuccino moreso than not getting one at all. I got the fish tacos which were delicious and my fiancé got a burger, which he let me try and it was very, very good. Their fries were also great! We got bread pudding for dessert, which was pretty good. The atmosphere was good and there was a little front area that you could sit in where you could enjoy fresh air and sunshine. I look forward to returning because everything on the menu looked really tasty!

We came to try the Beignets for the first time in Lake Charles. Our server was very friendly and able to provide context and make recommendations. The beignets had a hint of nutmeg which isn’t traditional but gave it an extra oomph. The coffee wasn’t anything special but wasn’t bad, exactly what you’d hope for. The banana peanut butter smoothie was also good, but paired with everything we had might have been a lot of sugar. It’s a bit more on the mild side of sweet but worth trying. The atmosphere is nice but the overall downtown is a little dead compared to other cities. Overall, if you’re in the area it’s worth stopping by!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Pujo Street Café is hands down the most overrated and overpriced place I’ve ever been to. The food is disgusting – bland, overcooked, and looks like it was thrown together by someone who doesn’t know the first thing about flavor. That ‘gumbo’ they serve? It’s just a bowl of Kitchen Bouquet mixed with regret. And don’t even get me started on the portion sizes – you’ll leave hungry and broke.
The service is just as bad as the food. The staff acts like they’re doing you a favor by even acknowledging your existence, and the atmosphere is depressing at best. Save your time, money, and appetite – there are gas station hot dogs with more taste and value than anything you’ll find here. Never again.

Stopped on the way to grab a coffee and the waiter kept saying we’re not a coffee place, while they had coffee on their menu. She brings us coffee not even close to being hot. Goes back warms it up and it’s still cold. I asked for a refund, but she refused. I asked for something else to be offered to us and she refused again. Can’t believe places like this exist out there. They can’t offer a refund or change our order for something else? Disrespectful and unprofessional of such a ‘high-end’ restaurant. I have never been treated like this at any restaurant, ever!

Absolutely unprofessional staff. Ordered three coffees. They were cold. Asked them to re-make, return or exchange them for something else. Manager said it was not possible.
The waitress says we are not a coffee house. Last time I checked, hot coffee is served hot and not cold.
Please do check what they serve before you consume. Absolute nonsense of a restaurant.

This place is out of this world good southern cooking. I had the shrimp and grits, my daughter had Bignets, and my wife had a southern fried chicken patty with French toast (it had a special French name but I forgot), but everything was a 10/10. Delicious and authentic Louisiana grub. If you're in Lake Charles this place is a MUST. It could easily be on the food channel. Try it. Just trust me and try it. Thank me later.

Swan was amazing, she was always attentive with us. She made our anniversary a wonderful one. The food was delicious, desert was outstanding. I would highly recommend going here and ask for Swan you won’t be disappointed.

I had to wait for and hour to get my gumbo and potato salad, after I ordered it. When i finally received it the gumbo was scorched. I sent it back and ordered the spinach and crawfish salad with out onions I am allergic to them and when I received the salad they were on it after I ask the waitress to make sure they didn't have onions. This was my first and last time going there. Very Very disappointed.

My family and celebrated my sister 78th birthday today. The service was good and Tiffany was amazing. But, my daughter order a cup of gumbo and it was horrible and nasty. The manager refused to remove it from her bill. And our food took forever to come out.
