As a local, I've been eating at Steamboat Bills for as long as I can remember. Never been disappointed with the food or the service. Today was a different story. After ordering 2 3lb trays of crawfish and a tray of crab, we requested to sit in the back where we would have room for 4 trays, with the tray for shells. We sat in the back at a double table, as their small tables would no way accommodate the plates we had. Yes just a party of 2, but the way crawfish is served on large trays we wouldn't have room. After waiting about 20 mins to even get in the door, we sat with our drinks to enjoy Sunday Crawfish.... about 20 mins later we were asked to move for a bigger party. We explained to the guy what we had ordered and that the table he was asking using to move to wouldn't be enough. He said he would find us a table in the front that would. After standing and letting another party sit, he informed us there wasn't a table in the front, and basically oh well. Small (maybe 30 inch) table or nothing. We requested to just get our money back and he snatched our drinks with no apology. Manager was equally unbothered and just rushed us out the door with no attempt to resolve it. 10000% disappointed in how the situation was handled. Food is always so good. But I would give ZERO stars after today.

I visited this place on Saturday evening coming from Lafayette, la, they were so busy, and their food is really good, try them out, you won't regret it!

Food was amazing. Service was great. Atmosphere was exactly what you would expect for a Cajun restaurant in LA. Plenty of options on the menu for everyone and so far my family has not found anything we did not like. Kids menu is a bit limited.

It was good, service and atmosphere was on point for how busy they were. However the shrimp was not devained and was pretty gross for my taste. Killed my appetite. That was my only complaint

Husband surprised me for my birthday with my whole family!The boiled shrimp was phenomenal. So were all the appetizers. The mushrooms were my fave! ?
We are in from Houston with a dance group and from the time we walked in they have been nothing but rude. They have no signs about allergies and they cook their chicken in the same grease as the seafood. One of our dancers had an allergic reaction. The food is unseasoned and dry…. If I could rate 0 starts I would…..

If I could give zero stars I would! The service was horrible and the staff had attitudes. We were in from Houston and wanted some Louisiana Seafood. They fried chicken tenders in the same grease as shrimp which caused a child to have an allergic reaction no signage was found in regards to allergen or cross contamination warnings. Also food was poorly seasoned.

The dog's face says it all y'all. ?Best damn crawfish and gator bites over the water. Only place I have ever enjoyed fountain sparking water as well.
If you're going through Lake Charles, you have to stop at Stramboat Bill's. The shrimp was amazing. The service was super fast and everyone was really friendly.

We didn't have a problem getting a table after ordering our food even though the parking lot looked packed so don't let that deter you from coming in. Our group tried the fried alligator, wings, cajun chicken strips, fried fish, and shrimp etouffee potato, all were very good and would try again. I'm salt sensitive and the gumbo was a little too salty for me, but that is me. I've also never had a lousiana roll and i loved it. I also got the wings which were yummy and crispy and you get about 8 wings. Would def come here again if I'm visiting. The portions are def filling and will stuff you if you eat it all in one sitting. I will say they are very friendly and great service. Our waiter was attentive and gave us to go sodas, she checked on us several times and food came out timely and the men giving us our food were very nice and even talked to us for a few minutes since we were out of towners. The only regret is not getting some of that dessert cause it looked so yummy all of it.
