Stay away from this town. It is money-grubbing speed trap that will charge you hundreds of dollars for a minor moving violation.

It’s all just amazing. Seriously one of the best places I’ve ever been for food and atmosphere. Their shrimp is to die for. Try the seafood platter also. If not a seafood lover then have a burger but get the gravy for your fries, it is delicious. Go there. Just do it. It’s worth it. Seriously. Go. Now.

This is our first trip to D.I.'s outside of crawfish season. We have been here more than ten times during crawfish season and have only ever ordered the boiled crawfish, crabs, gumbo and some appetizers. This time was different and we were not disappointed. The steaks are very generous in portion size and extremely flavorful. Mine was done a bit more on the medium well side and normally I'd have sent it back but I ate the whole steak without any other complaint. The venue is wonderful for live music on most weekends, but not all so call before going if that is your reason to go. Great for groups as well as very noisy children since it is a noisy establishments. If you do get the chance to have their crawfish order it, you will not be disappointed.

My husband, son and daughter-in -law and I ate at DIs on Friday night. We had reservations for 6:30 since we were expecting it to be really crowded, but it turned out not to be. We got there early and were seated promptly and given menus and our waitress came back relatively quickly to take our drink and appetizer order. The unsweetened tea had a strange taste to it; I really can’t describe it, but it was not good to me or my son, so I got her to bring me water instead. The good thing about the drinks was the soft, finely crushed ice that I just love, so I asked her to bring me an extra cup of ice and she did! We ordered a Bayou Blossom (blooming onion) and added an order of fried pickles a few minutes later. The onion was delicious; the pickles were only so-so. Our waitress didn’t return to take our entree order for awhile which was surprising since the place wasn’t crowded, but it turned out that a baby had thrown up on the floor at the table next to us and they were working to get it cleaned up and the peoples’ food boxed up for them to take home. My son and daughter in law both ordered ribeyes, hers well done and his medium. My husband ordered the blackened catfish with étouffée topping and I ordered half fried shrimp/half fried catfish. We all ordered baked potatoes and the meal came with a salad. The salads came fairly quickly and about the best thing I can say about them was that they were cold. They consisted of light green pieces of iceberg lettuce and a piece of an unripe tomato about the size a walnut. The good dressing didn’t even make up for the salad, so none of us ate much of them. Then the wait for our entrees started. The live band started playing at 6:30, so at least we had that to listen to. After about 20-25 minutes our waitress came and told us that they were training a new guy in the kitchen and things had gotten backed up. Then after another 10 minutes or so, the owner came out and said they had a problem with their grill and were having to shift the steaks around to get them cooked and they’d be ready in 3 minutes. They brought them out first, then our catfish/shrimp. The steaks still weren’t done enough, so they had to take them back and cook them some more, but we went ahead and started eating. My shrimp and catfish were tasty, but not piping hot like they’d just come from the fryer. My husband’s catfish was delicious. They also served us these little round pieces of bread that were to die for and the waitress told us they were like beignets without the powdered sugar; they were so good!! After the second time of cooking the steaks they were better and tasted good. We finally left there around 7:50 after arriving at 6:10. The bill for the 4 of us was $125 and that’s with no alcohol or dessert. While the owner did apologize for the delay on our meal, I thought she might have at least offered to comp one since it took so long and still wasn’t done when it was served, but she didn’t. The two best things about my whole meal were the crushed ice and the little bread thing. We were visiting from out of town and I doubt I’d make the drive to eat there again based on our experience, but if I lived nearby, I’d be willing to give them another chance.

Fantastic! Great service and a great mudbugs experience! They have a really nice brine for boiling (but the recipe is secret). Don't miss it!
