Albasha Express

I eat here almost every week and usually love it. The food still tastes great, but the portions have gotten way smaller lately. They also started putting the Taziki sauce in the same box as the hummus, and it ends up all mixed together by the time I get home. Still good quality, just wish they’d go back to the old portions and packaging

Apparently this particular albasha is independently owned and is under new management. So many people have noticed that the portions are now about half of what they used to be. So sad, because we loved having an albasha in mandeville, but we will never go back there. We will take the drive to Covington where the quality and portions are consistent, generous, and always good!

Chicken is dry with no flavor, I had a hard time swallowing . Gyro is dry with no flavor, white rice no flavor. Also I prefer something other then white rice with the combination plate, I've never just had plain white rice. oh the hummus no flavor, pita bread feels store bought. I've had better, but it's in Metairie and I didn't want to drive that far unfortunately. $45 down the drain

Food I've had has been great. Unfortunately I recently got takeaway chicken shawarma and was given HALF of the amount I usually get. I asked why I still paying full price and getting half the food and the girl at the front said it was new management. Sucks because i really liked the food...IMO the value has gone upside down. I understand having to make adjustments to make money but this one goes to far for me.

Drive thru lunch plate, chicken Sharma and fries. A bit $$ for lunch, almost $17. Food good, not impressed with the cleanliness of staff handling items without hand sanitizer between serving customers and handling silverware on counter.

What happened to using spices? The chicken schwarma tasted like NO spices were used....not even salt. There was no flavor at all. It used to be the best. What I just had was the worst. After years being a customer you have now lost me. Too expensive for tasteless food.

Menu online was what I go in person. People working there always nice, whether just picking up to go or eating inside. Place is always clean and calming atmosphere.

Ordered the vegetarian stuffed grape leaves and received meat stuffed cabbage leaves. Called to try and get it taken care of, but they refused to refund the grape leaves unless I came back in the store, which I couldn’t do because I was picking up food for company that was coming over. If you make a mistake you shouldn’t inconvenience the customer trying to make it right.

This place is AMAZING! Seriously, from the super friendly/accommodating staff to the delicious food...makes me wonder why I don't come here more often. Honestly, think it's because of the location...always forget it's there.

One of the best restaurants in Mandeville! Albasha Express looks like a fast food place on the outside, but their food is far above the quality of one.
