I’ve been coming here for 5 years, and it has never disappointed. This place is hands down THE BEST poke you can get. The fish is always unbelievably fresh, melts in your mouth, and the flavors never miss — not once. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bowl.

It’s even more impressive knowing it’s often just one woman running the entire restaurant and still providing amazing service and consistently perfect food. That kind of hard work deserves real respect and support.

The price is always worth it — you’re paying for top-quality ingredients and an incredible experience every time. And yes, you should absolutely tip. If you can afford to eat out, you can afford to tip. It’s common decency, especially when someone is working this hard to give great food and service.

A true gem and an absolute must-try.

Absolutely love this place! The poke bowls are fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. I ordered the large bowl for $17 and it was well worth it—the fish was incredibly fresh and all of the add-ins tasted high quality and thoughtfully prepared. You can truly taste the difference in quality.

While I was there, a gentleman was upset about the price of two bowls and a drink totaling $46 for four people. but honestly, for the portion size and the freshness of the fish, the pricing is very reasonable and fair. High-quality seafood isn’t cheap, and this place delivers on quality.

On top of everything, the owner was extremely sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to others!

La Poke is hands down one of the best sushi poke spots around. The service is always amazing—friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming every time you walk in. The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors in every bowl.

What really sets La Poke apart is the portion size. The bowls are always overfilled—you can easily get two meals out of one. It’s rare to find a place that delivers this level of quality, value, and consistency all at once.

I also want to address something I read in another review regarding tipping. La Poke is a sit-down restaurant, not a fast-food place. The lady working there prepares the food fresh—nothing comes from a bag—and she also cleans the tables after guests leave. If you choose to dine in, it’s completely reasonable to tip for the service provided. This isn’t McDonald’s; it’s real, freshly made food with real service, and that deserves appreciation.

I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves sushi bowls.

I LOVE this place!!!! It has the best poke bowls in the Mandeville/Covington area. Everything is always fresh and absolutely delicious. Mrs. Rose is always so friendly. She is honestly one of the sweetest people that I had ever met. Please give this place a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!!

Stopped in unexpectedly on a Saturday around 2pm and had a wonderful experience! We dined in with our 4 year old and were treated with such kindness & generosity ❤️ food was delicious, fresh and great portions for the price point! So glad we found this local gem with the such a sweet owner!

The one lady that was working was very rude. Had an attitude after I told her what I wanted in my bowl, then did not allow seating unless you tip. I have sat before without leaving a tip and apparently you’re not allowed to sit without a tip. A bowl only costs about $16 I add things that I know charge more coming up to $24 which was unexpected. I’m not gonna leave a tip for a bowl that is mostly rice.

I went in today as I have done many times and I never tip only because I don't feel I should when all she is doing is making my order I paid $24 and I was told that all of the tables are reserved for people who tip and if I don't tip I wasn't allowed to sit. She was very rude and was never like that in the past but after this experience I will never go back.

5 stars for ONLY food. I have been loyal customer for many years. When I first started going Ms. Rose was so sweet, attentive, and friendly. The last few times I have been she was nothing but rude to me and I do not know why. I quit going for a while thinking maybe she was just having a bad day or something and giving her benefit of the doubt but no she has changed…. at least certainly with me for a reason I do not know. Today, she was especially rude to me . As she was making my bowl I asked if I could have my kids bring their outside food in to eat with me. She said Yes but ONLY if I tip (I later saw this sign on her register) I said well I always tip either way. She okay thats fine, then few minutes later asks me how many I have. I said I have 3 in the running car (ages 12, 3, and 2). She said “oh no no no no, thats too many and I have to clean up too much!” I said well I will clean up after them. She said no “I’m sorry thats just too many kids”. I said so basically you don’t allow kids or I just have “too many”. She said “no too many kids” EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

Great service, amazing food, and the lady was so nice. She helped me pick the right ingredients to make a delicious Poke bowl! I will definitely be back with my family! Thank you!
