I went there at 6 PM last night, Friday Nov 1, with seven guests after hearing so much about the food, atmosphere, and service. Lafitte Restaurant was not open. They were disappointed. I was embarrassed after talking at length about how good the evening would be. I would have given this establishment zero stars if it were possible.
We arrived on time for our reservation only to find the restaurant closed with an eviction notice on the door. Nobody had contacted us to let us know in advance. Fortunately, the Saints game was on TV so we were able to get a table at another restaurant for our anniversary dinner. I don't know if OpenTable could have notified us in advance, but I would think that they should have that capability.
Great food, atmosphere, staff and delicious craft cocktails. We have been here for brunch and dinner - great experience on both occasions.
Went for the Sunday Jazz brunch. The service, atmosphere and music were excellent. Ordered the crab cakes with poached eggs and cheddar grits. The crab cakes were very good nice crunchy outside. The poached egg with hollandaise was ok egg was a little over done. The cheddar grits were a taste less pile of paste. Since it was all mostly ok I'll try them for dinner sometime.
Had another awesome wine dinner at Lafitte...can't wait to go back for dinner
Wow! Definitely will be back. Make sure you check them out. I was underdressed and they still made me feel pretty.
Waited two hours for our meal. We were about the third table in the place at 6:15 but all the tables that came in after had been served before us and some came and went before our meal came out. We asked our waitress several times about our orders and her response was they are backed up in the kitchen. Wow... just a suggestion take a pass on this one. Slow service and ill-trained staff.
I thought the food was absolute delicious, but the wait was very long
A great new find in d Mandeville. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. The scallop and oyster appetizer was perfect and the crab cakes were the best I ever tasted.
We visited for the first time last night. We ordered several items on the menu, and it all was super tasty and very delicious! Our appetizers were the crab cakes and duck quesadillas. We ordered a small plate of speciality cheese, meat, and other sinful treats! For dinner (we were a party of four) we had the duck, fillet, the Northshore grill, and the tuna. For desert we had the absolute heavenly creme brûlée and a special upside down banana cake that tasted like banana fosters. Definitely will be back! Atmosphere was also wonderful:)

Slightly more upscale than Lama's and Jubilee which preceded the present establishment in succession. Interior looks much prettier with a great color scheme and frosted glass partitions. The wife and I went for jazz brunch on Father's Day, June 16.2019. The couple playing jazz, keyboard and bass, played at just the right volume. Great voices too. Our waitress started us off with "Bloody Mary Cards" where you order their basic version but check off what you want in it: lime, olives, a fried oyster, a boiled shrimp, a prosciutto rose, bacon, okra, spicy bean, etc. All the food groups. Menu is great with many choices from farm to sea, featuring local favorites with unique additions. Prices are very reasonable. We shared charbroiled oysters which were great, and for entrees had the sirloin tips with grits, and steak and eggs on fried eggplant with brabant potatoes. Both entrees had the perfect sauces as an accompaniment. Wine list is varied and reasonable. We had a nice California cab and a great Portuguese red. As a new establishment, they are still getting the kinks out on service, but everyone is very friendly and attentive. This is a most welcome addition to the neighborhood!
I loved my dinner here! The servers were friendly and professional, and the ambience was really nice and comfortable (keep in mind that this is a nicer restaurant, so a collared shirt and nice pants are appropriate dress). The fried green tomatoes and crab cakes were INCREDIBLE! The gulf fish, chicken, and ribeye entrees were all VERY tasty, but like a previous reviewer said, the portions were a tad small for the prices. However, the sides that came with the entrees were great and I think this makes up for the smallish entree sizes. This place just recently opened, so they're still getting their game on and they are clearly on a trajectory for great success!
