The chicken parmesan was great. Love seeing a lunch menu too. Having a great lunch with a cocktail is what adulting should be and having it for $25 is becoming impossible! Hers was a dressed meatball Poboy. Not on the menu but they did it for her! Will definitely be back and I want to go to the original one now too.

It's in a strip mall ?
I ordered trout almondine not fried trout with brown gravy on it. The trout WAS fresh. But if you do not know how to make trout almondine don't offer it. I know something was wrong when it was bought out with brown sauce on it and no almonds. The chef brought it to the kitchen and returned with the same dish. He just put almonds on top. Wait staff was a 3. Not going back.

Ordered Soft Gell Crab Menuire and boiled potatoes. Entree was $26 and side was $4.

For $4 they placed two 2 oz potatoes in a Styrofoam container sliced with margarine on them.

Was going to give them a pass until I poured their Menuire Sauce on one of my Fried Crabs, It looked so much darker than the dozens of other times I have ordered this dish from a variety of restaurants. I tasted it and my Wife tasted it and was surprised it was the same gravy they put on the Roast Beef Poboys.

So tried one of the crabs without the roast beef gravy, it was undercooked, clear liquid gushed out along with ice cold yellow fat, almost like they dropped whole frozen crabs Into the fryer without cleaning them properly.

Tried calling them to see what they would do to remedy the issue, but noone answered repeated calls and the voicemail was full.

This is the first signs of the end of a formerly spectacular local restaurant. I won't be back....ever.

Good food... great staff. They really made us feel welcomed.
Our waitress name was Emma and she handled a party of 10 like we were the only customers around

We had brunch at Mandina's in Mandeville on Sunday, July 21, 2024. We had a group of 21 people, seated at two separate tables that were next to each other. The waitress, Heather was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive and eager to make our visit a good one. Heather was the only wait staff assigned to serve our group of 21. That was truly unfair to Heather. She was, however, able to manage our group to the best of her ability, but could have used helped.
Now onto the food. I ordered the Steak Benedict as well as several others in the group. The food was not good. The medallions of filet had no flavor, the English muffin did not appear to be toasted, the breakfast potatoes were overpowered with pepper that I could not eat and the grits were thick with no flavor.
The atmosphere was fair to good. It was a little warm and we had a fly that continued to circle our table.
I will not be returning to Mandina's in Mandeville.

Only suggestion, for this visit is the gumbo, we ordered two cups and mine had a half of shrimp and my family member didn't have any. We told the waitress who said she would get us some more but we were ok we just wanted to let the staff know in case. Maybe can just try to keep track if the pot gets low on shrimp. Owned a restaurant so I know how hard and busy it can be. Great all around!!! Have a great profitable year!!!

Service was great, let's start there. We were well-taken care of, and had service with a smile. The dining room is big, but noisy (very high ceilings, and nothing to dampen sound like carpet, etc). The food is where improvement is needed. I ordered spaghetti with red sauce and Italian sausage. The spaghetti was good, the red sauce was good, the Italian sausage was good. The issue here is that the Italian sausage was cut in half, longways, and then grilled. ANY Italian restaurant that prides itself on the food knows that meatballs and/or Italian sausage belongs IN THE SAUCE. This way it marinates in the sauce, and comes out juicy and flavorful. The grilled Italian sausage was VERY dry, and had a mild burn flavor to it.

Food was very good. I had the meatballs and spaghetti. The meatballs were huge. My husband got the egg plant Parmesan, but definitely go back to this restaurant. They gave you all the bread you wanted garlic bread.

I've heard a lot of good things about the food but was extremely disappointed all around with the meal. The sweet tea tasted sour like an old batch, the spinach and artichoke dip had a very noticeable sourness to, the Cesar salad dressing was watery and didn't taste like Cesar, and the chicken marsala was inedible to the point that you can tell the sauce wasn't cooked properly and still pungently tasted of wine. Even tasting some of the food from my family nothing was appealing. It was slightly busy so I can't say too much on the staff other than we had 3 different people serving us so I'm not even sure who my tip is supposed to go towards. All in all I would just save myself the money and get something from the frozen section next time I wanted "italian".
