Paid almost 6 dollars for a seriously poorly prepared apple fritter. Last time I spend my fritter money with Mary.

I absolutely love Mary Lee’s donuts! I have been to each location in Tangipahoa Parish and they never disappoint. So when I saw one on my way to work passing through Mandeville I quickly pulled over so I could grab two and get back on the road. When I walked in the lady behind the counter just stared at me. I just smiled, said good morning and asked for 2 glaze donuts. She walked away and started bagging them. When she came back I had to ask her the total she said $3 plus some change I don’t remember exactly. I said okay, do you take debit cards she said yes but it would be an extra charge, I said okay how much extra. She then proceeds to tell me I need to spend SEVEN DOLLARS to use my debit card. I looked confused, and asked her to confirm that I would need to apenad $7 just to be able to use my debit card for 2 donuts? She then tells me to just get a drink it’ll make it $5. Which makes no sense since she stated that I needed to spend $7 for TWO DONUTS to use my card. I did not need a drink nor did I want one, I contemplated just getting it so that I could get my donuts and go, but quickly realized it was not that serious for 2 donuts and to spend extra money for their ridiculous up charge prices. I told her no thank you and walked out. That was my first and last time stopping by that location. Very disappointing experience, but I won’t spend my money with people who purposely try to over charge you. I had nothing but amazing things to say about the Mary Lee’s in Hammond, Ponchatoula, and Amite, however this location needs to do better especially with customer service. I do not know the quality of the donuts but everything that was in the showcase looked old. She grabbed mine from the back so I assume those were probably fresh.

Honestly super disappointed, every Mary lees I have been too has been great but this location I tried for the first time and I’m overwhelmingly disappointed. Let me start by saying we did go around 10:30 so I know the donuts weren’t going to be super fresh but I did not expect them to feel so stale , the bread on the kolaches were almost not edible , my kids didn’t even want to eat the whole donut because of how stale it was , everything we got tasted like it had been sitting in the case for at-least two days , not to mention the price wasn’t cheap for what we got it wasn’t worth it , the card machine wasn’t working with my debit card so I had to use a different card overall I just won’t be back to this location again .

Bought a hot dog in a bread roll. Rather dry.
For dessert I got a King Cake donut and a apple fritter. King Cake was delicious going to get that again. The apple fritter was sort of dry. Also they make King Cake pastries out of season. Super cool. Love King Cake. Most bakeries only have them for Mardi Gras.

Don’t do the “surprise box” they will take advantage of you and give you all lemon filled.

The Man that runs this shop is the sweetest, kindest person ever!! He remembers my son every time we come in and gives him a free donut of his choice. The chocolate covered cake donut is to die for. 10/10

Cinnamon roll tasted like it was three weeks old. My kids would not even eat it jalapeño Lake had no jalapeños and also tasted old. I called that day and told them he said come back in and we will replace it when I came back in and showed them my phone record and explained what happened they broken English said you will pay we do not remember. Absolutely terrible donuts and they charge me more than what their menu said the first time.

I’ve been to this location dozens of times and they have yet to charge the posted prices. Always the most expensive donuts in town and I’m always overcharged.
