Took my adult grandson to the Covington restaurant today for lunch. A roach crawled out from under his plate so we stopped eating immediately. When I informed the Manager, he offered to let us move to another booth but no offer to replace our lunch or discount my grandson’s portion. I paid the bill but I will not return.

I really loved this place and have eaten here for several years.
I almost always order the sushi lunch. Very slowly week by week I've noticed the fish has been marginally less fresh.
It hit the breaking point recently when I was brought a piece of tuna that was flat out bad. I made the mistake of biting into it and immediately spit it out. It smelled almost rotten.
I'm really disappointed its gotten to this point, but the freshness of the fish is literally the most important part of a sushi restaurant. I should've complained in the restaurant but what's the point? The trust is broken now.
I may keep eating at the other location. Although I'm worried its headed the same direction I haven't had an experience this bad there...yet.

Hands down, best sushi experience in Mandeville. This place is next level - amazing creatively crafted rolls with the freshest ingredients, waitstaff comparable to NO fine dining. Just a great experience overall. Do yourself a favor and plan an evening there.

The servers were nice and very sweet, however the food was not appealing AT ALL. I was trying to decide between two ramen options in which the manager stated were made “fresh”. I asked if I could have a small sample of the two broths to help me decide. Absolutely stunned when the owner stated she could not do a sampling, as they were frozen and not fresh. She then returned to the table minutes later to try and say the broths were made in-house. I decided, against my best interest, to order the ‘Cajun ramen’, which touted many toppings including mussels. The toppings were incredibly sparse and very noticeably NOT fresh. The spicy broth I was told to be homemade tasted suspiciously similar to nongshim instant noodles. I ordered a few appetizers to sample, including the agedashi tofu. The fish flakes were so old, they didn’t even ‘dance’ with the heat of the oil. Even the skewers were lackluster. I love to leave rave reviews, however, I was so disappointed in the lack of value for the abhorrent prices of the food. I had notated the price of dishes while ordering and knew what I was getting into, but was absolutely appalled by the lack of quality for the price. I honestly felt like I had unknowingly stumbled into an episode of kitchen nightmares. Sadly, I will not be back and I pray no one gets sick from this restaurant.

This review is for the newer location on Tyler. Megumi always had the best sushi to us. But the past few times it keeps going downhill. You have to ask for everything that used to be standard. Finer, wasabi, soy sauce and even miso soup. They never bring it, 3 x’s in a row. And the rice has been hard, tacky and old tasting. They forget to put the sauces that Lulu was always known for. It’s sad that he can not trust his employees to do there part. When Lulu is there it’s great, but when he is not it suffers greatly. Sadly we’re going to stop for a while and go to the place on hywy 59 in Mandeville. We went there on Saturday and it was excellent!! The service the sushi and the presentation were all top notch. We can only hope Lulu can get the staff to perform up to his standards.
