Enjoyed my dinner at Rips. The gumbo was good. Made Cajun style with dark roux, with lots of shrimp. I personally prefer Creole style, with okra and tomatoes. I enjoyed the seafood pasta. Very good was creamy and had lots of shrimp, with white crab meat on top. Portions were large. Brought enough home for two more meals. Billy was my server and most attentive. Hope to go back during daytime hours so I can enjoy the view.
Price to taste ratio kinda average here. Went there with 10 members of my family, Great location. My appetizers of boudin stuffed shrimp and the crab claw appetizer were definitely a 5/5 and my main entree of the pan fried triple tail was average, espically considering the price. You can get better entrees for cheaper at other places if you want to, for instance the key lime pie at sams club is much better than the key lime pie from here... my bill was $138 for 2 entrees, a dessert, 2 appetizers and 2 iced teas. Food was rich but that's expected. But again a place like Palmettos in slidell is cheaper with far superior food in my honest opinion. I would recommend going to Rips just to try the food there you may have a better experience than me. My family thought their dishes were great from here. The appetizers were the star of the show.

This was our first visit to Rips on the Lake and we are so glad we stopped for it during our travels. What a location and view, but even better was the warm hospitality we were shown when we first walked in. I had the pan fried red fish - it was delicious. The green beans with new potatoes and fried pickle chips were so good. Be sure to visit!

Stopped in for lunch and had an amazing blackened redfish with potatoes and greenbeans. Tentative staff and good atmosphere overlooking the lake.

Food ok. Very pricey. Entirely too noisy, can't even enjoy a conversation, and crammed in like sardines. Only positive, view of Lake.

Just a great place on the lake. The food is to die for! Everything was great. Tip... RESERVATIONS! We got the at about 5 on a Saturday and there was nothing available. The owner came up and said he would take care of us. Not only did we get a table but got one with a perfect view of the lake. Everyone was just so nice. You have to give this place a try. It's worth it. PS the wedge salad was outstanding!

The food is overrated from my recent visit, the blackend fish was cooked to hard and dry, for the price we paid, should have gone to a different place. The front of the restaurant has a stunning view of the lake, but it does not change the focus of a restaurant.

Got a big, suffice to say, human hair on my trout. The hair was a bit long and scraggly, catch my drift?, for my ingestion.
When I informed service of it the reaction was like I, as the buyer, was being a hassle. I ain’t eating this hair… dude.
So my party continued eating their dishes, while I decided to not make a big deal and to make demands for the disappointment and throughout the rest of our meal the staff member came to our table making passive aggressive comments on the situation. Again like I was the problem. I really was civil during this exchange but the unprofessionalism of the worker was jarring. Why couldn’t they just drop it and leave it alone?? Crazy when I could’ve been the vocal one about it I was the one considered the issue in the situation. Perfect gaslighting has I see this behavior in more and more people. Crazy you literally pay for decent service and you’re greeted with a rather childish and indecent reaction.
Completely unacceptable. I’m not apologizing for not eating and sending back human biological byproducts on the expensive ‘specials’ dish I was excited to try.
Goodbye, Rips. Or at the very least train your staff to not be snooty and take it personal when a customer won’t eat disgusting lagniappe. Here’s a simple solution and equation when facing this issue: apologize+solution= satisfied customer. Most people can accept an issue at a meal, but subsequent berating for not accepting it? Wrong.

Highly recommend. My wife, daughter and I tried it and was really impressed. The view was beautiful, atmosphere was extremely nice and the food was amazing. It was well worth the hour and half drive!
