Truly, my favorite place. I have never been disappointed in anything I have eaten here. From po boys to amazing fish plates. When they say topped with crab, they mean it. Fresh and lots of it. First class all the way. Ros (the owner) is truly a delightful person. Will be here every time I am any where in the near vicinity. Enjoy it. Oh yeah… the view is gorgeous.
We splurged last week and ordered appetizers, entrees, and desserts. They're Not cheap, but it was worth it. The rooms are bright and cheerful, there's the view of the lake, and the staff are very good. We were seated immediately (for lunch on a Sunday) although we didn't have a reservation. We found out that they do take reservations on Sunday.

Came here with my wife and mom for one year wedding anniversary and it was the right decision. Everything we got was delicious. Chargrilled oysters to start, blackened redfish topped with étouffée and my margarita was really strong!
beautiful view of the lake and great service from Megan

Me and my friends came here for my sisters bachelorette dinner. It was amazing! There was 6 of us. We didn’t have reservations, and while reservations aren’t required, they are suggested. We didn’t have reservations but were sat immediately! The food was great, and it is in a beautiful place! Would DEFINITELY go back!!!

Made a reservation for my 43rd birthday at 1pm to be told we had to wait by the host because he accidentally sat two walk-in 4 tops at our table. After 20 + years in the service industry I've never told a reservation that they had to wait because I was a daft potato.
After 20 minutes of them doing nothing to rectify the situation they created, we were told there's for starters you can not hire incompetent people who make the customers who followed your policies feel like they were in the wrong.

Ordered soft shell crab . Very good with lump crab on top. The only problem the lump crab was from the can wet with lots of crab shells you had to pick out of your mouth constantly . The food took long to serve . The atmosphere Nice! The server great!

OMG this is a hidden gem! The food and drinks were fantastic. This is a mom and pops restaurant with class on lake ponchitrain (casual attire). The owners were fantastic and this felt like home. Everything we ordered was Great!! Service was great! They are booked up through Mother's Day so that should say something. Prices were reasonable! We had left overs without appetizers! Thank you Rosalyn and Skip for everything!!
Enjoyed my dinner at Rips. The gumbo was good. Made Cajun style with dark roux, with lots of shrimp. I personally prefer Creole style, with okra and tomatoes. I enjoyed the seafood pasta. Very good was creamy and had lots of shrimp, with white crab meat on top. Portions were large. Brought enough home for two more meals. Billy was my server and most attentive. Hope to go back during daytime hours so I can enjoy the view.
Price to taste ratio kinda average here. Went there with 10 members of my family, Great location. My appetizers of boudin stuffed shrimp and the crab claw appetizer were definitely a 5/5 and my main entree of the pan fried triple tail was average, espically considering the price. You can get better entrees for cheaper at other places if you want to, for instance the key lime pie at sams club is much better than the key lime pie from here... my bill was $138 for 2 entrees, a dessert, 2 appetizers and 2 iced teas. Food was rich but that's expected. But again a place like Palmettos in slidell is cheaper with far superior food in my honest opinion. I would recommend going to Rips just to try the food there you may have a better experience than me. My family thought their dishes were great from here. The appetizers were the star of the show.

This was our first visit to Rips on the Lake and we are so glad we stopped for it during our travels. What a location and view, but even better was the warm hospitality we were shown when we first walked in. I had the pan fried red fish - it was delicious. The green beans with new potatoes and fried pickle chips were so good. Be sure to visit!
