Service was great, but food was extremely salty as in the saltiest Asian food I've ever had. Server said it was not the first time she was told food was too salty.

They said the meals were for 1 person- but whoever that person is... needs to exercise (!) portion control. Food was awesome...will be back. Will split an entree next time.

Have really missed Trey Yuen in Hammond but went today to the one in Mandeville and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent!! We will be going back!!

Our family saves visits to Trey Yuen for special occasions since it is on the higher end of prices as far as Chinese food on the Northshore goes. Tonight was one of those nights but we ordered to-go since we were tired after coming home from the airport. We had a very simple order: combination egg foo young, combination lomein, and 2 orders of eggrolls. My husband also ordered a side of white rice. The young man that took our order over the phone said that the egg foo young COMES with a side of white rice, so did we want an EXTRA order of it since my husband just asked for white rice? My husband replied that if it came with it, no need to add an extra order of it. The young man said yes, it comes with it. So he then proceeds to read the order back to us. And he read it correctly....one combination lomein, one combination egg foo young with white rice, and 2 orders of egg rolls. Great, sounds good, we will be there in 25 minutes to pick it up. A different young man than the one that took our order over the phone walked the order out to us from the kitchen. He said he double checked the order and everything was there. I didn't question it because silly me assumed that 2 entrees and 2 sides was too simple to mess up. I get home and go to plate dinner for my family and shocker...there is NO white rice. I called to tell them that it was missing from the order and the person on the other end acted like it wasn't their problem. He went as far as to say "well, you weren't charged for white rice, so....." Actually, if it CAME with the egg foo young like we were told it did, then YES, we WERE charged for it. And if it didn't come with it, why were we talked out of ordering it on the side, which we would have gladly paid for? He said to come back and they would give me some rice. Sorry, I'm not driving all the way back there from Madisonville. By the time I did that and got back home, all the other food from the order would be cold. It may seem like a trivial thing to be bothered about, but we paid $70 for dinner and didn't get what we were supposed to. And the person that requested the egg foo young ONLY eats it over white rice, so that rendered that expensive entree useless to us unless I were to cook some rice myself, which defeated the entire point of ordering out....I was too tired to cook! I would probably be a little more understanding about the situation if the restaurant had been slammed, but it wasn't....there was literally only one table sat in the entire restaurant. So the error wasn't due to being stressed or overwhelmed from being super busy. It was literally DEAD in there which means the error was due to pure laziness. I also might not be as upset if the restaurant seemed genuinely apologetic instead of making it seem like it was MY fault. Or they could have even offered to refund a few bucks since part of my order was left off. But they didn't. It was just excuses and they made it clear they didn't care. People around here preach that everyone should support local business, and I do....I have been coming to Trey Yuen since I moved to Mandeville in 1988. But if this local business doesn't care enough to make sure customers that are spending their hard earned money receive what they have paid for, I will think long and hard about going back.

If there were more stars this restaurant deserves it! As soon as we sat the owner came to greet us, we got our food and he came to make sure we were happy. There is nothing more assuring than someone who shows confidence in their food and surroundings. The egg rolls are to die for if they sold a dozen to take home I would have been so happy. You won't be disappointed I can't wait to return.
