Brieux Carré Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
2115 Decatur St, New Orleans

“Small brewery just off of Frenchman, it was really quiet when I went. Basically just a few of the regulars and off duty staff. I hung out on their back patio reading for awhile before I decided to come get some snacks at the bar. Surprise surprise, I had a couple of IPAs, one hazy one not. Both were very drinkable for extended sessions. I got a bag of the hatch chili jerky and it actually paired well with the beer. Only had a couple beers while I read a few chapters, then moved on to the next.“

“You don't need me to say anything. It used to be a neighborhood spot, but now it looks like all tourists -- at least on a weekday lunchtime. People driving in in SUVs or taking an Uber. Of course, I was a tourist too there for my oyster po'boy and a lunchtime beer. My only claim to being any better was I took the #11 bus to get there and back to CBD. Worth the trip.“

Big Daddy's Bar • $
2513 Royal St, New Orleans

“The bartender after Bobby was truly awful. I've bartended 10 years in NY/lower Decatur and she was one of the most unfriendly bartenders I've ever encountered. Giving 5 stars because Bobby is a gem but I could do everything in my power to make sure people never went there if I knew that horrible woman was the server for the night“

“Went here after watching some of Endymion parade. Man the food at this place is ?. I dislike onions but have a profound taste for their onion rings...Top Notch! I had the hamburger stake it was good and i would buy it again but was a bit dry on the inside (I might be a little hypocritical as I ordered it well done). Even with the high volume of customers they got our food out in a timely manner.“

“Our band, out of Mobile, AL played there as an opener for a touring act and the staff were simply amazing to work with. EXCELLENT venue for an up-and-coming band to gain some experience with a real stage setup, compared to many other smaller establishments I've worked. Go hit these guys up and tell them Rise the Phoenix sent you!“

New Orleans Lager & Ale (NOLA) Brewing Brewery • $$
3033 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans

“Went for a lunch special--2 slices of pizza, salad and beer or tea for $9.99. Great deal. Pizza slices were big thin crust with various toppings. Nice beer selection. Some IPAs and sours. We found something we liked. They also offered hero sandwiches, pizzas and other fare. Nice deck for warmer weather. Pizza was decent. I'm not a big fan of thin crust, but this was good, if a little greasy. We had a couple of flavored IPAs and the blond. All we're good. Will definitely return when we visit again.“
