Went to Vets location. Beignets had to be microwaved. The powdered Sugar was in huge chunks that didn't break when you squeeze them. Cut up my mouth trying to eat the sugar. Only a microwave does that to sugar, not just fried beignets. Won't go back.

Everything tastes like soap 🤭

Vice president is a total knob. Who moves into the French quarter and complains and sues a local establishment over bubbles that have been here for decades? Will never go back again. He could have moved anywhere he chose this location..

Good vibe! Beignets are delicious! Must have cash, not credit cards accepted!

Very nice food, need more staff as service was slow but not their fault just very busy for them! Nice live music by street performers too!

Always a wonderful sweet treat! You cannot go to the Big Easy without stopping by the cafe and and having a sweet treat. The staff and everyone is great.

A stop off after doing some shopping. Beignets were heavenly, service was great. We visited a few Cafe du Monde’s during our stay, all exceptional.

I've been to smaller Du Monde locations but this was my first time at the Jackson Square location. It was a great experience. I was able to go for breakfast two days in a row. Frozen cafe au lait and an order of beignets is all I need to start my day. There was great music playing right outside the restaurant. It couldn't have been more perfect.

I feel like this is one of those experiences that people just do because it’s “the thing to do”, but it’s really not. I liked that it was open so early & we could just walk up from the playground in City Park & order outside. I’m glad we did it, but only for the sake of the experience. I enjoyed everything else we did much more. I may be biased because I also learned that I do not like beignets haha. Coffee wasn’t great, either. But the kids loved it!

My wife and I decided to go to New Orleans in August (2023) - the travel rates are much lower and places not as busy (of course, some are on limited hours as a result). The down side is that it was so very hot, ranging from high 80s and 90s to over 100F and very humid. We still had a great time and enjoyed the food as well as generally excellent service everywhere. We got up early on our first morning there and walked down to the famous Cafe du Monde (and the shopping nearby in the French Market). I had cafe au lait (with chicory coffee) and we had the beignets - very, very good although they are loaded with powdered sugar (if you wear black, beware!) There was a band playing on the sidewalk and they really loved the place up. Customers (and staff) were smiling and dancing and enjoying their food. This really was a highlight of our trip!

Must do during a trip to New Orleans. The beignets are addicting. We ended up stopping there three times in our four day trip to the French quarters.

Cafe du Monde disappointed with overhyped beignets. Tourist trap ambiance, and lackluster flavors left us unimpressed. Skip it!

Everything good that people say about this place is not enough. The place is always packed but still charming and comfortable. The food is incredible. The best beignets I have ever had and I doubt will have this good somewhere else.
