My husband and I took our daughter out to eat for her birthday and wanted a place within walking distance of our hotel. The location was perfect. Our server, CJ (I hope I heard her name right), was the best of the best. Super attentive and welcoming. The food was so fresh and delicious. The kind of delicious that'll make you hurt yourself đ 10/10 recommend.

I got my order to go and they charge you 50 cents extra for each item you order and didn't inform us about the extra charge, I noticed it after, an extra 5 dollars, what a rip. On top of that they charge you extra to use your credit card.
A business should already have these expenses in there business plan, they should not pass on these expenses to the customer
Now folks, if you ever wondered what happens when the Good Lord gets a craving for seafood, He probably points His cloud right toward Deanieâs in Bucktown. The place smells like a sermon on butter, garlic, and fried cornmealâand brother, thatâs a religion I can get behind.
Deanieâs has been sittinâ proud since 1961, back when Bucktown was all shrimp boats and stories, and the only traffic jam was a couple of pelicans arguinâ over a bait bucket. John and Alma âDeanieâ Livacari started it as a little market by the lake, sellinâ seafood so fresh it probably still had a social life. Then along came the Chifici family in the early â80s, who turned that humble shack into a full-blown temple of Gulf goodness. They didnât change the spiritâjust gave it a little more room for the faithful to gather.
You walk in today and the airâs thick with crab boil and laughter. The tables are loud, the beerâs cold, and the floorâs got just enough stick to remind you somebody spilled a good time there before you. Itâs the kind of joint where âfine diningâ means a full basket and a happy heart.
Now about that fried oyster platterâmercy. It comes out lookinâ like Mardi Gras on a plate, a golden mountain thatâll make you forget your cholesterol and your better judgment. No garnish, no pretense, just a pile of oysters so perfectly fried youâll swear the chefâs got a deal with Poseidon himself. Crunch outside, briny heaven inside, all sittinâ on a mess of fries that exist solely to catch what your napkin canât.
You drown those oysters in hot sauce, squeeze a little lemon for show, and by the time youâre done, youâll be leaninâ back in your chair grinninâ like a man who just got away with somethinâ. Deanieâs ainât just a restaurantâitâs proof the worldâs still got a few honest pleasures left.
And when you finally waddle out, belly full and spirit lighter, youâll find yourself thinkinâ the same thing I did:
âWell, I may not know what heaven looks like, but I sure hope it smells like Deanieâs.â

Food was top tier, we loved the local food feel and taste. Worth the drive out of New Orleans. Our server was Tiffany and she was very attentive and made great suggestions. Service 10/10.

My husband and I went there for his birthday dinner, and everything was great. The service was top notch. The food was more than I could fit, but worth every dollar. Best seafood restaurant we ever been to from Baton Rouge, LA to Pensacola, FL. Felicia did amazing as our waitress, and she handled a situation behind us better than most people would. We definitely will be back with family.

I drive a hour away to make it to this place, I will take everyone that I take out to eat to Deanies. This is the best place ever. I love the food, they do you right no matter what you order. the employees, they are so friendly and nice, the restaurant is in a lovely area, I come down at least twice a month with different people every time. We get the same lovely service every time. Hats off to Deanie's managers, employees, and all that makes us feel like kings and Queens. Thank you all, we love you â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
